Were going on a cruise to New Zealand & Australia in Feb. We are actively buying a lot of items that will identify us as Canadians. Have had similar experiences in Europe as well. Once locals know we're Canadian we get a much better friendlier treatment. Suspect that will be even more prevalent now.
