huh interesting, from someone whose mother tongue is teached with so much emphasis on phonics that being able to read a word without knowing what it means is common and spelling bees are non existant, it really paints the picture of why english in the USA is the way it is, so flexible in all the wrong ways allowing horribly hard to understand accents with so little consequence and festering the low reading comprehension by letting readers to go "eh horse, pony there be no difference to read cuh" in every context they can...
