Very reluctantly fought against, in the strictest sense of the term, while U.S. corporations and millions of U.S. citizens supported said fascist government.

It was the attack on Pearl Harbor, two years after the war started, that changed things, somewhat. Without which the U.S. may not have gotten involved, militarily.

Praising our fight against fascism then glosses over ugly truths, like all of our national myths.
