I’m reminded of the way Youngkin campaigned on that high school bathroom assault in Virginia, which fell out of the news after he won and so most people missed the subsequent revelations that the man wasn’t trans, knew he wasn’t allowed there, and both he and the woman were breaking school policy. So much of this stuff assumes door signs serve as some kind of magical shield for ill intent.
