Yeah, that's a fair point. The only two radios you might have proper access to on your device though are Bluetooth and Wi-Fi direct and BitChat uses Bluetooth and meshtastic uses Bluetooth to connect to the node itself. I don't know of any of them that use Wi-Fi direct because I think Wi-Fi direct is more complicated to set up.

I guess if you really did not want to use Bluetooth, you could actually connect your meshtastic node to your phone directly with its USB data cable and use it over serial.
