Here's what I would do: Hire me, a 130 WPM typist, to type out the announcements (plus could have a "sound board" style selection menu for common templates), enter into system, then have THAT use Text to Speech AND display it to a screen.
There are already some pre-recorded messages in use at gates, but it'd be nice to SEE THE MESSAGES.
