snide people who talk down to others in service of powerful personalities do not ever admit they were wrong. if they believed you were overreacting before, they will continue to believe it, even when the worry you had comes to pass. it's a personality trait, not a rational argument. it adjusts to new information not by changing the argument, but by finding a new avenue to pursue in condescension.
