I value politeness.

I know how that sounds. It sounds centrist; it's the opinion of a person who is happy with the status quo.

But I genuinely believe that change - even radical change - can only be achieved with politeness (plus insistence, of course).

I hate that we've lost politeness from today's politics. If I was American, I *would* like to discuss immigration with Trump. But when he is so rude about Somalis how can any discussion take place?

(And Trump's not the only one doing it.)
