It is not. I don’t see any additional complexity vs Bitcoin. Certainly a lot less problems for new users than Lightning, which is absolutely awkward for normal people to use.
Even if it were the case that it was harder to set up a Monero wallet, a small learning curve at the outset is better than a thousand hidden gotchas while you actually try to use it on a day to day basis. But it is Bitcoin now that asks for both the learning curve and endless patience while features that make it money become usable at some date in the future. And in the meantime you can’t spend it as money, and people will berate you for giving them $100 in it.
