The more I think about it, the more I think that podcasts might be the emotional substitute for YouTube when push comes to shove. Or at least it's one of the options.
Obviously the format is different, but there is tons of overlap and it covers the same job that I look to YouTube to solve.
But podcasts are already decentralized and based on a protocol, whereas solving that problem for video is one that only a few are willing to try.
