It has in fact stalled because other matters were deemed more important- the last one of which being getting a local-only instance running for doll.salon development purposes.

My attempts at getting any of the donor laptops running have failed. @ulith suggested running the development environment in a virtual machine on my "working" computer instead. I've installed a type 2 hypervisor, but haven't removed the laptop's storage to install it on the computer yet. This removes virtually all of the other potential uses that i had in mind for the local server, but i'm seeing myself out of choices at the moment.
