I think this message of "regret" is absolutely perfect for anyone who wants to avoid taking any responsibility for their guilt.
I'm serious. This is the perfect encapsulation of the sort of self-indulgent feelings of "guilt" that allow certain people to let themselves off the hook for the destruction they've wrought, because they "feel bad about it".
