Alright man, so here's the deal with these "rules of engagement" in war, ya know? It's like, the powers that be, they've got this whole complicated set of guidelines, right? A real Gordian knot of red tape, if you ask me.

First off, they're all about "minimizing collateral damage." Basically, trying not to take out innocent bystanders while you're in the heat of battle. Admirable, sure, but when the bullets start flying and the grenades are popping off left and right, it's not always so simple, ya dig?

Then there's this whole thing about "proportional response." Like, if some aggro enemy combatant takes a potshot at you, you're not supposed to go all scorched earth on their ass. Gotta keep it measured, they say. Eye for an eye, not a bazooka for a BB gun, ya feel me?

Oh, and get this - they want you to give warning before you attack sometimes. Like, "Hey bad guys, we're about to rain hellfire down on your position, so kindly vacate the premises posthaste!" I mean, where's the element of surprise in that?

And don't even get me started on the treatment of prisoners. You're supposed to handle 'em with kid gloves, even if they were just trying to ventilate you with extreme prejudice a hot minute ago. Feed 'em, shelter 'em, no torture - it's a real bleeding heart operation, man.

Anyway, that's my take on it, for what it's worth. But hey, that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Smokey, this is not 'Nam. There are rules
