If there are a small group of people who get to choose what is published, they get to choose whose expression is more expressive. They choose the manner in which someone expresses himself, which is also part of the self expression.
You can't get out of the contradiction. To have freedom of expression you must have financial freedom. Without financial freedom there is no freedom of expression
