Despite living in a "world city" where at least 30 percent of the people speak Spanish it's really hard to learn a second language in the US.
I've told my husband he should pretend he's IDK Swedish or something and only knows a smattering of Chinese so he can get practice, but he is too polite to do this.
"Pretend you don't know English!"
I have a different problem sometimes someone decides that I know Spanish and comes at me at like 9999 mph in some dialect and it's like drowning.
