Thank you for posting: very important & interesting. I like nixOS because can with flakes set up, modularise & document OS setup elegantly & can make computer be how I want. The issue of nix language has solved itself using 'Claude code'. I managed to set up boot error log popups in Gnome, Wifi network selection optimisation, & package two packages (meshchat, nomadnet) that rely on a third package (rns). Scary is 💯% reliance on internet for building. The python issues u state are scary.
