Pretty much yes.

I was thinking more of the general program flow uses of borrow checking (and of the similarities with some kinds of capabilities, hence the tangent) than strictly for manual memory management.

For that I prefer to keep it extremely simple and use or do something similar to [garbage-pools](https://cliki.net/garbage-pools).
