Well, the shutdown nonsense is a good reminder things aren't getting better anytime soon (no one's talking about it but they slipped a Hemp THC ban in the 'deal' too.).
Moving to Canada will be my main focus next year. Sucks, I spent 13 years paying for and getting this house together. I'll have enjoyed it fully intact for only a couple of years, and had it debt-free for only...well, I'm planning to finish the mortgage immediately before selling so, uh, 0 days.
