I don't just interact with art for pleasure, though I certainly take a lot of pleasure in things like excellent films.
I depend on art to help me with the difficult process of expanding my understanding of the world which surrounds me & the way in which people experience it.
That requires specificity & authenticity, more so even than artistic skill (as important as that can be).
