Long under Washington’s radar, the First Capital Command, known by its Portuguese initials PCC, started out as a disgruntled band of inmates fighting for soap and toilet paper in the 1990s.
It now has some 40,000 members behind bars and on the streets with a vast network of affiliates—making it the largest criminal group in the Americas by some estimates, operating in nearly 30 countries on every continent except Antarctica.
Unlike the narco-tycoons of Mexico, the heavily armed Colombian cocaine militias or the flashy drug lords of Rio de Janeiro’s Red Command gang, PCC members keep a low, businesslike profile, seeking fortune not fame—and shying away from the kinds of gratuitous violence that attract police and TV news crews. New recruits sign up to a strict internal code of conduct, their swearing-in ceremonies sometimes conducted by videoconference.
By adopting religious personas—pretending to be ministers—PCC figures have gone into far-flung regions of Brazil to gain the trust of locals and recruit new members, while securing routes to neighboring cocaine-producing countries.
Few crimes are outside the PCC’s reach. Members today are involved in everything from illegal gold mining and cargo theft to cybercrimes and the trafficking of exotic birds, according to dozens of interviews with state security officials.
Cocaine, though, remains the PCC’s core business and that means that the gang has also become America’s problem.

Yeah, I hear a lot of such cautionary tales, but in the hands of decent devs I'm hopeful the rapidly-built stuff holds up over time. Guess we shall see. I suspect Ditto isn't 100% vibed, based on polish, speed, feature set, and fact there's kinda a lot of people involved, but am not actually sure.
I had smesh as a relay for a bit, after you whitelisted me, but then I stopped connecting for a bit and I assumed I got in-whitelisted or something. I'm not smart enough, or a power user enough, to know what it really did for me...was just an extra relay to have. From what I've read you post about it here and there though, it seemed solid and performant.
Probably smart to work on revenue generating projects though, that's what I'd do if I were you. I've been experimenting with LLMs way more the past few weeks, and feel so powerful! Can't imagine what the unlocks would be like if I'd started with some actual dev skills. Jealous

I found a screencast (sorry, in Dutch) which I made in 2011 demonstrating the HVSbackup app. This was an Adobe AIR application where I combined traditional web tech and Flash / Actionscript in a desktop app: https://nyves.nl/hvsbackup/
The neat thing was that I could connect to a remote script on a server (connecting an API), transfer all the data via some iframe bridge in the app and than save all the data directly on the local machine. The purpose of the app was backup up all your data from Hyves (a Dutch social network).
Soon after I making a similar app for Facebook (called Facebackup) some lawyers were already warning me to take it down (which I did and developement staled).

After spending some real time on Nostr, here’s my take: it is exactly what you make it.
For me, it’s become a kind of personal blog — a place where my thoughts just exist, floating somewhere in the vast space of the internet. For others, it’s a marketplace, a venting ground, a stage for self-promotion or business. Sounds familiar, right? Like any other social platform?
Not quite.

I chose Nostr to be fully myself. No masks. No pretending. No hiding.

Bitcoin got the seal of approval from the government simply because Chainanalysis, and other entities can reliably track most, if not all transactions on the blockchain, and even lightning.
While, I understand Bitcoin transparency was as a means to verify supply, there have been new methods to cryptographically verify supply while keeping transactions private.
And even Satoshi discussed privacy implementations but weren’t added by default yet.
