Boy, I wish I was that confidently incorrect.
Depression is both chemical and mental. We've had people living very comfortable and luxurious lives killing themselves over depression. Maybe they felt trapped in their gilded cages, I don't know.
With me it's mostly mental. Thoughts I cannot run from haunt me and at best are just always at the back of my mind. I can't change my environment because they will follow me. I can't change my thought because they won't go away and let me. I'm just doomed to suffer with the knowledge that I have, which weighs on me like the world on Atlas. But just as he, I still somehow manage with my task.
Some days are certainly better than others, but they all suck.
I do appreciate the effort of you trying to help. Although it also feels like fodder for r/wowthanksimcured
If it's a private park I will respect the wishes of the property owner.
If it's a public park I'll keep going.
Fuck Apple, for multiple reasons.
I use multiple sources and then make a decision based on the data collected.
That heart is me voting that I love the idea. Knowing what someone voted is okay, but knowing why they voted it is where the real meat is.
My question is, is there a way to make polls anonymous? Some are less likely to vote truthfully or at all if their reputation is attached.
But it didn't shut down, it still exists for existing games.
Also, it's a new point because they're gonna build something else anyway. Whatever, they can all go use it if they want. Takes the people with low IQ away, and it'll feel like before Eternal September happened again.
Well the thing is I don't think it's technically spam. Spam is something different.
I do think the polls are posted in good faith. There is just way too many of them. But I am also extremely forgiving too.
Then again, the specific user I'm thinking of could post polls on their own platform so you are probably right.
I never asked anyone else to pay for my sins. They are mine to atone for.
Aside from that, there are many Christians who ask for forgiveness and keep on sinning like it's a blank check to do whatever they want. That makes it the best religion for narcissists and grifters in my opinion. No wonder it's so popular!
I will listen to anything if it's actually good. Most AI music sucks and is by definition formulaic. However, there is some stuff that's at least funny.
I'm also sure it will get better over time.
I don't know who you're talking about, so I'm gonna have to disagree until you edit the poll question to add them in.
Look up Pascal's Wager. What makes you think that you're believing in the right god?
Also, I try to be a good person and always do the right thing because that's what I want to do, not out of a fear of damnation or exile from some divine kingdom.
If God respects me enough to give me the option though, then why would he punish me for all eternity for not choosing what he wants? Especially when he could just tell me himself and not play bullshit games. In much of the Bible he never shuts up.
I think if God existed he would love atheists, because we're the only ones who actually take him seriously.
That "loving father" is effectively a deadbeat dad who went out for milk and never came back.
Reality is scary and so people tell themselves stories to make themselves feel better. Repeating them doesn't make them any more true.
I'd say wake up, but I'm sure you enjoy being asleep.
Best of luck on your journey to the enlightenment that you alerady think you have.
That's because it is. You get used to it though.
You sound like one of those people who say "I'm spiritual but not religious."
You're welcome to call it whatever you like, but if you believe in a higher power and that the Bible is the literal word of God then you're certainly not skeptical enough. If you're really wanting to get in the weeds look into the works of Richard Carrier and David Fitzgerald. Although I doubt much is gonna sway you if your mind is already made up, and I suppose the same could be said of me.
I much prefer actual science that is proven and verifiable through peer-reviewed double-blind studies.
It's been a fun conversation though. Best of luck on your path.
See, that doesn't make sense because the Bible is religion and you can't really separate the two.
Now you might not belong to a congregation, but it's still a personal religion. You can try to separate the bad stuff from the good stuff, and the natural from the supernatural like Thomas Jefferson did. However too many still use that book (among other holy texts) to bend and twist things to their own will and mean whatever they want.
Is there some good advice in the Bible? Sure. But I don't think it's the end-all be-all book of ethics, morality, and law that Jews and Christians claim it is (although Jews claim only the first half, but still my point remains.)
Well I don't really put any stock into the Bible, or religion in general.
Absurdism is fun though. Good luck on your journey. Maybe one day you'll figure it out... Although ignorance is bliss.
That apple do be tasty though.
I want to know as much as possible about everything. I consume the apple because knowledge is power.
I don't think the US government did 9/11, but I do think they allowed it to happen, and then used it as a pretext to remove more rights and spy on people.
That's the real truth they want to hide.
My heart says van life. However, what we want and what our actual duty is are sometimes two very different things. Reading the rest of the comments your duty is clear, and family should come first (as long as they deserve it and would do the same for you.)
Yeah, I knew I'd be in the minority here. But at least the government sources are willing to put their name to it. They're not also all completely horrible when it comes to things like science, but that can be peer reviewed and proven.
And believe me I'm no fan of government. But I'm also not going to throw babies out with the bathwater.
The local place by me that's not a corporate chain or franchise.
I've learned to deal with it. From a certain viewpoint, in a Venn diagram stoicism and nihilism are just a circle :)
Lots of people struggle with a lot of things though, and I know many. I try to help them as I can.
We are all indeed deeply flawed creatures. The only thing we can do is try to be better today than we were yesterday.
I came to the realization a while ago that people who gatekeep anarchism aren't real anarchists. They're just assholes, and usually communist tankies dressed in a red and black motif.
What they fail to understand is that if people actually want to collectivize, that's totally fine under an ancap system (as long as they're free to leave that system at any time.)
Technically I don't believe in either. Assuming they both exist though, I'm picking the one that would not punish me for not believing and following in it.
Epstein was strongly encouraged to kill himself, and then given the means to do so.
As The Borg are an autonomous collective I think I would trust them the most, as they have no need for money.
Also, with their integrated technology, they'd probably make for one kickass mining rig.
Also, also, they are technically the singularity and I'm jumping in head first.
Don't make me choose! I love each differently for what they are.
If it's PWA I can just go to the damn website anyway. Why does everything need to be an app and try to scam my info/track me/shove ads in my face?
Neither, LLLMs all the way.
I don't really work with AI, but it's only a tool. That tool is efficient and gives people more time. Whether they fill that time with more work or other things is up to them.
The depression is constant and unyielding and I don't care. I am quiet quitting life.
I don't know what you mean exactly by your poll, but I do know people confuse envy and jealousy all of the time.
Assuming you meant which emotion do I struggle with the most, I'd go with numbness.

Sometimes I'll use a shirt pocket if I want to record what's going on.
My father uses a holster. I put mine in my coat.
Strange game, the only winning move is not to play.
How about a nice game of chess?
"...and I'm trapped down here with a confessed arsonist!"
That song and video are great, but I always think of The Venture Brothers now. That tribute they did was hilarious.
On the subject of voting, I still do it. But I only do it as protest and only vote for third party. If I thought they actually had a chance at winning, I wouldn't vote at all.
I mean they're gonna do whatever they want regardless, so I might as well make my voice heard.
Claude is a fucking moron. I'd argue that in court.
Then again I might be rottingin jail too.
I still think that as a less lethal option is still better than blasting them in the face with a gun (assuming it's an actionable threat either way.)
