it's really hard to fathom. that means in 6-9 months someone else is going to be where they're at now. will they be as nice? will they release it to the world? so, we have 6+ months to fix all of our software?

i'd say longer than that. 6 months open source models will match Opus 4.6. so we have perhaps another 3-6 after that.

In conclusion, nostr has to implement some sort of friend/follow request, private profiles if it wants to dominate the world, if not people will come and leave once they realize random people can comment on their marriage photos and make fun of their big nose.

almost nobody I know in real life uses x that's because it's bad for our mental health, it's so chaotic, full of trash and bots.
Facebook on the other hand allows us to keep our profiles private, so you end up with family, friends, coworkers, who you know are 100% real people. It's more relaxing and enjoyable to use facebook.
I can't recommend nostr to real people who use facebook because as soon as they make a note, you get all kinds of random people commenting on the note and there's no way to limit commenting and close your profile to only your friends since there isn't a friend/follow request system like facebook.
People who use X on the other hand, won't mind nostr, unfortunately almost nobody uses X in Canada. Majority of people use facebook.

the zap stream dev has already solved the bandwidth issue and decentralized streaming. He created a backend software and gave it out to everyone and now streamers to pay sats per minute to stream, and the admin gets the sats. Problem solved. Shosho runs their own customized zap stream back end with their app.
Primal has streaming too but I think they might be using their own software somehow, so I guess if you want to stay modern, you'll have to add steaming to nostria too.
Microsoft went wrong, by thinking they can move users to a new website by simply pumping money into a website.
It's like trying to move people from Facebook to Nostr, It's almost impossible unless they either get banned or the website goes down. People will stay with what's comfortable even if it's a bad website.

Dlive also targeted crypto lovers, banned people, decentralized people, which is a small audience.
Streaming is not meant to be a profitable business in the fiat system we live in. Twitch simply stays alive because Amazon with their unlimited fiat money keeps it going to keep a monopoly.

The number of people who have reached out saying “my wife and child almost died too” is truly staggering… Thank you for sharing your stories. The fact that these terrifying near-death experiences are so shockingly common (especially during pregnancy/childbirth) is a great reminder of how absolutely brutal and deadly most of human history has been… We are so fortunate to live at a time when modern medicine can save people who would have been guaranteed to die for 99.999% of human history… beyond grateful to the doctors, nurses, and paramedics who saved her life and the life of the baby in her belly. Carla is still in a lot of pain but she’s resting a bit now, thank god.
