«Na sexta-feira, 20 de março, em função da guerra com o Irã, que elevou os preços da energia e de outros produtos, o primeiro-ministro espanhol, Pedro Sánchez, anunciou medidas para reduzir o custo de vida.

«Ironicamente, um relatório publicado pelo Instituto Juan de Mariana na mesma semana do anúncio de Sánchez mostra a extensão dos danos que várias formas de controle de aluguéis já estão causando na Espanha. Após a introdução de tetos para os aluguéis na região da Catalunha em 2024, a oferta de imóveis para alugar diminuiu 23%. De forma ainda mais drástica, a cidade de A Coruña e a região de Navarra viram a oferta de imóveis para alugar cair 44% e 51%, respectivamente, apenas seis meses depois de designarem certas áreas como mercados imobiliários "em crise" e também imporem tetos para os aluguéis. Working on a new thing last night. Learned a thing or two while creating Plume for myself. For instance, I'm not jumping in without a plan and making it up as I go.
This time I'm working it all out with the AI before any code is written, so I know exactly what's what and what I want to make happen.
Will be interesting to see if this makes the process simpler in the longer run.
Plume isnt finished, btw, but that'll be ongoing for at least the next 12 months.
This is another idea 💡 that'll hopefully make nostr useful beyond standard social applications.

I hear a lot of developers complain about AI having sucked all the fun out of programming.
I can understand that if what they enjoy is writing the code.
But personally I feel the complete opposite. I have never enjoyed programming more than now. I’m so happy that I no longer need to be spending a ton of time on writing the code. Instead, I can use that time on figuring out the best architecture for the system I’m building.
When I work with an LLM, I write Markdown documents that I use to prompt it with detailed descriptions of the features I want the LLM to implement. This could include which APIs I expect it to use. If it’s a rather unknown API, then I copy-paste the definition of it so it knows exactly which parameters it expects and which methods can be called.
I find that if I don’t give the LLM some clear directions, then it will start using deprecated methods and start writing new helper methods even though it could just use existing ones.
In general, I think LLMs can be a bit lazy at times… But they can do excellent work if given a good prompt. #AI #LLM #coding

No amount of money printing will save Japan. Every business cycle should have forced a reset, and low interest rates should have encouraged business. Instead, it ended up protecting weak firms, redirecting capital to scarce assets, and exported it to earn better yields elsewhere. The Bank of Japan didn’t just stabilize the system, it anesthetized it. The economy forgot how to renew itself, wages stalled, and productivity along with it. Risk-taking brings little reward, so a whole generation grows up just expecting things to stay more of the same. People don't stop having children for cultural reasons, it's more often tied to economics. When the future feels flat, people stop building toward it. When you suppress volatility, you think you're eliminate downside but the truth is you actually wipe out all the upside.
We need this, but not for just one day. 😉
