Possibly because Israel is a unique state that was artificially created based on a particular race and religion.
I think that there is also a collective western guilt and horror over the Holocaust.
Sad that it has led to another genocide being perpetrated by the descendants of those victims.

They aren't classed as hospitality, but they are part of the underlying trend away from home cooking.
A lot of people now lack the skills, or even the means to cook their own meals.

Hospitality has enlarged massively over the last few decades.
There are arguably far too many restaurants and takeaways (loosely defined, including fast food joints as restaurants).
The move away from home prepared food began in the 60s.
When I was a child, the only fast food outlets were chipshops, the odd cafe that closed at 5PM, and possibly a Wimpy. Few pubs sold food.
Now there is a Wetherspoons, a MacDonalds, a Burger King, and a KFC in almost all towns.

It's as if they don't understand what freedom of movement was about.
People go where the jobs, conditions and remuneration are good, which means the states they leave behind have to improve those things to lure them back.
In other words, you eventually end up with a level field and life improves for everyone.
Of course, that is what the wealthy business owners hate.

It isn't just money, although eating out is definitely much more expensive than it was.
Many people (my wife included) are still nervous of crowded environments.
Many people were also forced to learn how to prepare food for themselves for the first time, and some learned that they enjoyed it.

Pretty sure that given the source of that it will be tweaked to suit their intentions.
e.g. it uses figures for energy supply and energy consumption interchangeably.
What that doesn't show is how much of that is actually produces energy.
E.g. huge amounts of oil are used to transport oil around the globe (approx 28% of all shipping). Mining and oil extraction also use large amounts of oil.

At times I read a book a day.
The English course book in year 3 was the history of Mr Polly, I had a dual edition H.G.Wells my copy had The War in the Air at the back :)
I have lost count of the number of books I have read, not just SF, I was an avid reader before I discovered it, although it was the majority for a long time.

I read his whole canon.
I got into SF 60 years ago @12 yrs old when I found Arthur C Clarke's " A fall of Moondust" in the local library.
Started devouring everything I could lay my hands on, exhausted the local libraries, then bought. I once had nearly every issue of New Worlds magazine and a couple of thousand other books. Sold them as a job lot to a bookshop when we moved.

It was amusing when at a Le Havre Pizzeria, a friend said to the waiter that the Pizza was "Fantastique", meaning he he thought it was very good.

English is a mongrel language, but it spreads to others.
French vernacular now Includes many English words. "Le parking" for example.
Consider the French alternative of "place de stationnement"
or "Le weekend"

I have noticed that they sometimes have a relationship with pigeons.
When I lived in Birmingham, there was a pair of them, a magpie and a wood pigeon, that always foraged together. I saw them every morning, in our garden and on the roadside verge at the front.
Thought that this was a one off, but 200+ miles away in Cornwall where I now live, I have seen the same behaviour.
Whether it is just an opportunistic pigeon following a magpie, I don't know for sure.

My daughter's partner plays double Bass in a couple of swing bands, a 50s style blues band and some ad hoc jazz ensembles in Cornwall and Devon
The audiences are predominantly late 20s -30s. Performances are always rammed.The Lindy hoppers follow the swing bands, and the dancing is awesome.

Maybe, but I personally don't think it worth the effort.
Google push YT so they can show you ads or get a sub. Once I started avoiding it, I realised how poor it actually was. I now ignore any YT links, and I feel my life is better without them.

Another reason not to use YouTube.
I used to use it a lot, then I realise dhow badly curated it was. Like AI, YT is full of stolen media.
The insistent push to YT by google searches for anything made me stop using Google as a search engine.
Video is sometimes better than text, but only rarely are YT howto videos actually any better than a good text and image tutorial.

The Birmingham area had a lot of infrastructure in place already, as quite large health centres, so other areas that lack that have the stumbling block of finance, but the idea is starting to gain traction. Our local "Community hospital" in Liskeard has a minor injuries unit, a small short term ward and and more equipment than a typical GP practice. There is another in Bodmin.
In addition to financial issues, staffing is also a problem.

When you think about it, hospitals are really bad places for recovery.
Poor sleep, average food, risk of cross infection, removal from home comforts and family support systems.
Centralisation of resources, yes, but a lot of it could be done outside the hospital sites.
This is the sort of solution we need badly

My wife has been in hospital 3 times in the last 3 months, each time for a UTI triggered sepsis. First the GP prescribed antibiotics, 3 different ones, ending in an emergency, 12 days in hospital, Discharged and repeated twice. She is now home again, after a total of 34 days in hospital. If she had had appropriate treatment at home in the first place, before it turned into sepsis, this would likely not have happened. So yes, improving social care is hugely important.

The media always highlight benefit cheats as a distraction from the wealthy cheats who own them.
Having lived through several governments of both types in my 72 years, I know which the poor were better off with.
I was unemployed when Thatcher came to power and there was an almost overnight change in the atmosphere at job centres and social security offices.
