that misinfo is terribly ineffective among black women. Trump only got 10% among black women last year, and even less among young black women. Most white women have voted GOP since 1968 due to anger at MLK and Civil Rights. That's despite white women being the vast majority of beneficiaries of the Civil Rights Act. Young women shifted significantly toward Trump last year. They found various pretexts(most notably Gaza) to vote for a court-ruled rapist to police their own vaginas for abortion, miscarriage, IVF, ectopic pregnancy etc. Now many of them want to leave the country after helping Jeffrey Epstein's best friend back into the White House. by the time MLK was finally murdered after numerous tries, there was no even split. Look at the numbers for 1966, 2 yrs before he was killed. By 1968 his final numbers were even worse. We can tell what happened after 1966. Republicans won 5 of the next 6 Presidential elections, a huge change from the previous 40 yrs. Only one Republican(Ike) made it to the White House between Hoover in 1928 & Nixon in 1968.

pubic opinion of white folks did not change much at all in the 60s. White Americans overwhelmingly continued to support the segregationists. When MLK was finally shot dead after many arrests, beatings & murder attempts, his approval was just over 30%. It was only after his murder that he became more popular because he was safely dead. Those same people and their descendants are the biggest fans of ICE right now. This very much includes the 25% of GOP voters who aren't white.

I did not reference my daughter's experience. You misread what I wrote. I'm looking at a big picture in the UK where voters are mostly rabid racists, making stupid racist decisions. Labour is moving to the right chasing those racist voters. It's not the cause of the racism. I'm 60 and do not ever remember racism being in retreat in Britain, as far as actual behavior and voting. It's been pretty constant from my own childhood in a predominantly black colony of the British Empire.

I do not put much stock at all in those kinds of surveys. Here in the USA, there's a huge disparity between how conservative(i.e. racist) people actually behave(including voting) and what they say on those kinds of surveys. The more conservative people are, the more illogical and dishonest they are. This is a huge advantage for the right, as John Stuart Mill accurately pointed out a very long time ago.
