Funny enough, when I turned 50 I went to #Meijer and asked if I could have an MMR booster and the pharmacist almost fainted with joy. Five minutes later I had the injection. Insurance paid, if there was a cost at all, and I don’t care that my last injection for MMR was 1983. Let’s refresh that. Another thing Measles can do is immune system amnesia. The assumption in the value judgement is that a shrinking population would hurt the olds, when its the olds that put the policies in place that make the population shrink. We just assume that a shrinking birth rate is automatically bad. Degrowth could be good, this could be something to root for, not to be upset about, or fear. Nobody wants to have children in a world we have built. Because we built a nightmare world. Aha!

It’s as far as I know, a feature of @npub1frs…09cc. I believe it’s extended data that the app keeps in the iCloud sync location for me. I “Edit Notes” on a user, then I can pick custom colors, so when I see a user appear with a red username, I know at a glance that they really do not want any sort of replies, or they are unpleasant, or abusive, or otherwise generally wretched. I used to just think I could stop there, now I’m building a list. To sequester them away.

The principal reason why I delete most of my replies that I make is that I take a moment, I think about what I’ve written, and I think about how the receiver will react. Then I move into overthinking and see myself as a “reply guy” and then the image of a one-man-polka-band-rolling-down-the-Alps making a dreadful racket. The reason I value #tiktok and its algorithms is because it brings other #lightworker folks to me easily. Many of them don’t know what they are doing or their gifts, yet, but there they are. One fellow lightworker suggested, and I believe he is right, that all of this #uspol drama is an infected wound in the collective of humanity. I spent all day with my help desk admin trying different ways to get New #Outlook to display a shared mailbox calendar that we use. For me, it displays fine, but for other users, and my help desk admin, they can’t see any of the “older” items in the calendar. It adds without a problem, just sync is wonky. The fact that I don’t have a problem is making my inner-troubleshooter itch. Ah well, my HDA reached out to our #Microsoft partner for help. #Office365

It’s close, mine leaked from the bottom too. It was a tiny leak, so I just wet/dry hoovered it all up. Then called to have it replaced. A bit after that, my furnace stopped working just as it started to get cold, had to replace that as well. Then the drains stopped working, had that fixed too. Homeownership is a blast, don’t let anyone tell ya differently. LOL.

Many years ago i encountered an article about the ecological benefits of “Not Raking Leaves In Fall” and I follow it happily now. All the trees are currently dropping dead leaves and where the wind puts them, I leave them. Every year, in the spring, I marvel at the discovery that overwinter, they get used, eaten, and rot into the ground. There is simply nothing to rake in the spring. I was watching a video of the NOAA flights that chart the insides of hurricanes. Talk about seat-of-pants-science. But I wondered if anyone has ever tried to release liquid nitrogen into a storm. Then I shrugged because it feels like someone would have tried this by now. Not hitting the water underneath it, but releasing it across the storm. Idly musing on the butterfly effect really. Brought a flood of memories back to me too. Mid 1980’s, the workshop/basement of the office building my father worked in on James Street in Syracuse, NY. There was an old Coke machine, with the narrow rectangular glass door, you’d put in three quarters and the door would unlock and you could pull an ice-cold glass bottle of Coke out, then lever off the cap with the metal bit on the front. Best soda ever. 🥰

Over this week I’ll be moving 8.7TB in 4 million files that my 228 coworkers have created and stored on my nearly ten year old #Windows2012R2 server. Then on Friday migrating #AD to a new server. I remember life before all of this. It seems a different lifetime, like recalling scenes shot through a lens lightly treated with Vaseline for the old timey effect. I remember people weren’t quite this alienated from each other. Perhaps it’s just nostalgia and age. Without the Internet, I’d have likely gone into some sort of counseling profession, or I would be a chef maybe. Work for #WorldCentralKitchen if they’d have me.
