this movie is literally a love song to both his parents (software was developed to play the famous encounter music at the end).

#Serbia destroyed #PuertoRico's men's #basketball team cuz they really couldn't hide they're boricua hobbits. they fought hard, but didn't have a chance against those g'damn Balkan giants.
also tragically, the women's basketball team, lost by ONE DAMN POINT to Spain.

all this to say: the fascist non-profit complex works because they are paid to reproduce top-down structures they want to control.
we can't follow that model if we're fighting it. so we need to start laying the foundation literally from the codebase up. and that means cooperatively owning what we build.
won't be perfect, but its the better way out of this fascist quagmire because it's sustainable.
non-profit isn't and that's by design. 3/3

2. the fediverse doesn't work if it's based on the top-down model of charities. charity is a trickle down economics without the fascist business suits.
for real federation we need people to own the instances they are in. if not they run the risk of ending up like USA southern states where residents are just living in an open prison.
the fediverse should be predicated on users owning the means of their social media production.

two things because am recharging my spoons with the Olympics and this topic always gets me agitated. so here's the thing:
1. fascists are not driven by abstract notions of power. they're driven by money. so they've literally stolen money from all of us to destroy us.
asking folks to go hungry and homeless to fight pigs at the through is fucking stupid at the very least, puritanically malicious at it's worst.

it's too hot. been spraying myself with water and sitting in front of a fan and it's not enough. can't run the AC often because the compressor is borked.
am reckoning #cancer and maybe #COVID19 have altered how i handle extreme weather. this summer is hard.
if you're in NYC and need respite, go straight to a hospital atrium.

there is so much joy in witnessing other people's joy. there's ways to love and happiness that never crossed my mind and yet, because everyday i choose to open my heart to the universe, i find new ways to smile and feel full of love.
why would anybody not want that all around them? why not want joy, happiness, well-being, health for others?
why would anybody want to justify their life by the amount of people suffering around them?

there's a level of disconnect that is too vast and wide to defy logic.
so i posit: putting aside the labor from editors, there is no way JK Rowling wrote alone the Harry Potter books.
sure, there's no question she had a hand in them but it seems to me that there's a heart and mind missing in her that it's in those books.
there's no way JK Rowling is the sole author of the Harry Potter books.

am trying to understand why y'all say «mkdir -p -- "$1" && cd -- "$1"» works.
i have something like this for creating site folders in Backdrop & Drupal multisite installations.
the scripts DO create the folders and update & copy all the files that go into them; but it bothers me that the terminal prompt never switches me into the folder.
my expectation is that "cd" moves my prompt into the new folder, not the bash process.
so is that what's happening when in a function?
