I think it's safe to say the amount of attention needed in response to an attention request is at least as much as what the author provided in the request (we need to consider it, play with it, come to the same conclusion)
The current balance between attention requesting and attention giving is too heavy towards attention requests. I think restricting how much we will give attention to is great (with a roadmap or something)

I really love this discussion and the ideas in here ❤️
The way I see it is that almost everything is either asking for attention or giving attention. The attention that exists to give is much smaller than the attention that is being asked.
Creating a forum post, a ticket, a PR, an update on a PR - these are all requests for attention
Giving attention includes responding to posts, triaging tickets, reviewing PRs

We need a DEP to refresh the Steering Council definition.
We should review and possibly update:
- eligibility
- the election process
- expectations (perhaps reporting)
Bits like what happens if less than 5 people run? Is 5 a good number? Should members have "roles"? Chair? How do we make this a team rather than a set of individuals who may not work well together?
I hope the SC experiments in the first 8 months and decides what works. Then, they make a proposal and vote through some changes.

- Give the DSF your email so they reach out to you once the elections are happening.
- Share your details so the DSF can check your eligibility as a candidate and let you know, ahead of the actual elections
- Do an early registration as a candidate (the DSF will reach out to confirm closer to the elections)
