Al-Quds Brigades has released the final message from an Israeli soldier held in Gaza, recorded before contact was lost with the unit guarding him during Israel’s ground invasion of Deir al-Balah. In a video, he urged Israel to allow food into Gaza before “I die from starvation.”
According to the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), contact was lost with the unit guarding Rom Braslavski on July 22 following a ground Israeli invasion of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, leaving Braslavski’s fate unknown.
In the footage, taken two days before contact was lost, Braslavski described witnessing the devastating impact of starvation on Gaza’s children through televised reports, saying they looked like “skeletons”.
He also begged “Israel” to “allow food to enter before I die from starvation,” urging, “If not for the children in Gaza, then for your captives in Gaza.”
He concluded by calling on Israel to end the genocide in Gaza.

This is how political correspondent Moti Kastel described the consequences of not letting nine trucks loaded with baby food into the Gaza Strip: “And then we will encounter a phenomenon that we don’t want to see, at least not from the perspective of the international community, of pictures of babies starving to death and so on.” The problematic phenomenon is “pictures of starving babies”, in contrast to the massively different real babies actually starving to death.
Likud spokesperson Guy Levy explained: “All you need is a picture of one small place where you have 5000 hungry children with their skin clinging to their bones, and there is no more war tomorrow. They don’t even have to die.” Again, there is no problem with “5000 hungry children with their skin clinging to their bones.” There is not even a problem with them dying — on the contrary, let them die. But a picture of them alive is sufficient to halt the fighting. Political correspondent Tamir Morag noted from a scientific point of view: “You need to keep the population in the Gaza Strip above the threshold of malnutrition, so that you don’t have sights of starving Gazans, which will cause international pressure that will bring about an end to the war.”

Israeli drone struck a ship carrying humanitarian aid to the war-torn and besieged #Gaza Strip while it was in INTERNATIONAL waters near #Malta on Friday.
According to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), which organised the mission, the attack appeared to deliberately target the ship’s generator, sparking a fire and causing a “substantial breach in the hull” that left the vessel in danger of sinking.
The ship, which set sail shortly before the attack, carried at least 30 people from 21 countries.
Israeli attack comes exactly two months after authorities halted all humanitarian aid and commercial goods from entering Gaza.

Tel Aviv has rejected a proposal for a five-year ceasefire in Gaza, which included the return of all detainees, Israeli media reported.
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, citing an unnamed senior political source, reported that the Israeli government is unwilling to agree to a truce with the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas, which would allow the group to rearm and rebuild its capabilities to continue fighting Israel.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Maariv newspaper revealed that the security cabinet will convene for its third meeting this week to discuss the possibility of expanding military operations in #Gaza.
In a related development, the Families of Israeli Prisoners held in Gaza have called for a demonstration in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, ahead of Israel’s “Independence Day” celebrations.
The families are demanding the immediate release of all 59 Israeli prisoners currently held in Gaza and the end of the war.
The committee representing these families criticized the rejection of the ceasefire proposal, stating, “It is now clear that Netanyahu’s government has no plan.”
