I control the CC and bank account. Not sure how my wife could do that much damage, and my kids are going to have to earn their own money. Aside from the shame of having failed to raise them to handle money well, I'm not sure how their bad choice would destroy my life.

They go to e-waste recyclers because they are 4-10 years old and the warranty is 3-5 years. Parts are too likely to fail and repairs cost as much as a new PC, after that time period. Nothing to do with Windows support. So far, all Windows machines have been upgradable when as OS goes out of support.
