@npub12dp…rpxf I’ve been shocked by multiple conversations with acquaintances recently where these phrases have been rehearsed.
But this country has been on a wild ride for the last thirty years. From relative poverty to a ridiculous boom, a financial crash that upturned many people’s lives, an unequal recovery, a global pandemic and now this almost post-truth reality.
I’m afraid we’re in fertile territory for those that sow hate rather than those who seek common humanity.

The Overton window has shifted on immigration in Ireland. Populist politicians know this and are making the right noises for support.
Unfortunately, I don’t see it shifting back anytime soon.
