I’m going to leave this here. Carolina Wrens are probably my favorite bird. Their song is notable and loud. I have them all around me and usually have at least 1 nest close per year. I have had the joy of watching the fledglings leave and flit about. Have a listen to the song on the page below.

I didn’t feel like going out through my garage to get my garbage can from the curb. So I opened my front door and whoosh in flies something. My first instinct was fuck a bat. Ohhh no. It was a Carolina Wren. Its partner flit across the the bushed opposite my door. So I just spent the last 20 mins trying to get the poor thing back outside. I got it into the garage at least. I gave it some seed bc it was flitting about. Now I have a few feathers to clean up. Hopefully it doesn’t have bird flu. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 🤞🏻

So it's 5:30 here. Water is fixed and first estimator for repipe has done walk through. It will be 2-3 days before estimate is sent. But fix bc it ended up being in slab was a total of 1568 now add leak detection for 350 and we are about 1920 total. 🤦🏻‍♀️ that said, the guys were better as the day went on but still they could have been a bit more professional.

So the circuit board for the furnace which originated in Georgia is stuck inn Kentucky due to weather. Thx UPS! 🤦🏻‍♀️ the young lady at the furnace guys office called to break the news I might be able to get it fix by Monday. Brightside- she's also asking her boss to refund the expedited shipping I paid for ($100). This is kind of her. Monday could be a real hoot plumbers, furnace guys and estimators OH my!! And now the furnace had a bad circuit board that has to be ordered. It might get here by end of week. Thankfully Lowe's still had space heaters although none of the cheaper models. Insulating my home today. The problem with living in a southern home built in the mid 90’s is that they didn’t expect the cold snaps we have these days. And the builder at the time cut A LOT of corners. So I will be putting film on the windows, insulating the back door, and determining where the damn drafts are coming in from. I already have thermal curtains that I use to keep the heat/cool at night. I use the sun during the day. This keeps the gas bill down considerably.

Genealogy day and I’m trying to track down my great grands on my maternal grandfathers side- I see them in the US and married about 1900 or so but
I can’t find them in Poland/Austria. Having multiple spellings of the last names great grandmother and a range of birth dates spanning 5-7 years for great-grandfather isn’t helping. 🤔 🙄 😖

I ended up going to the park. Luckily there was enough of a breeze it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Wildlife tally: 4 deer, 6 turkeys, 4 Sandhills, 2 swamp bunnies, 7 gators, and one red tailed hawk. I stopped counting herons and such as there are soo damn many. And the whistling ducks are back!!

All good here. Milton wasn't a menace here wind wise. Helene was far worse. Waiting for daylight to see anything but didn't hear much falling on the roof. Granted Helene brought down most of it during her visit. I hope those south of me are ok, early reports aren't good with all the tornados, surge, and winds. I just spent an hour with my new NP discussing all health concerns prior issues etc. she was actually excited to get my full history that I keep, labs that I have done etc. she said "this is awesome and so complete" yep everything a new clinician needs to know about me. I honestly forget but I only soaked them for 30 mins last time and didn't do a dye set treatment. So this time, 60 min soak and 60 mins in agitation then rinse, treated rinsed again and dried on high heat to help set the dye more. We shall see how long it lasts this time. 😉
