France is doing another COVID vaccine campaign from April 20th to June 30th. It is FREE if you have healthcare. You can get vaccinated at a pharmacy. You should if you haven't been vaccinated in 6 months.
Everyone is eligible but sometimes pharmacists will ask for a reason (when they don't have to). You can just say you live with some who has immunodeficiency. This is a "good enough reason" to them that is impossible to verify.

2026-01-30 09:19:02 UTC

What if we fell in love on first sight and were both borderline.
What if we were so into one another that just being together makes us feel so heavenly, more high than on any drugs.
What if we said "I love you" to one another, because, although we have no idea if this is gonna last, right now, we *mean* it.
What if we both acted like this is never gonna end even though we know it might, because right now, that doesnt matter. Right now, we just wanna live in the present, together.

Makes me want to make a cookbook with simple recipes written with enough precision that you could do then without having ever cooked in your life

2026-01-21 19:22:08 UTC

I wish there were recipes aimed at beginners that actually explain everything you need to do.
Like take this recipe I was trying to do earlier (without the eggs) https://ottolenghi.co.uk/pages/recipes/camping-style-japanese-lentil-curry It does not say that you need to cut BOTH ends of the leek, and that you need to wash the potatoes after peeling them. I had to watch someone do this recipe once to learn that this was the case.
Cooking recipes expect that you already know how to cook. I hate that. Makes me feel that I can never trust them

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a disgusting tribute to capitalism. Willy Wonka is the epitome of the great innovating CEO whose company lives in total secrecy.
He literally fired all his workforce to replace it with beings he brought from somewhere far away. Despite being human-shaped, they are totally complacent and aren't portrayed as particularly intelligent.
And the story says all of this is good!!! One doesnt need to think very deeply about this, the ideology of the story is totally apparent as an adult.
But then, it has the blueberry inflation scene, which changed the world forever. It's not a stretch to say that Tim Burton's adaptation created a new kink entirely by itself. This is an achievement few works of art can claim.
Verdict: 10/10 This film is a must-see. Blueberry inflation is the hottest thing ever

We should just straight up ban companies from advertising "no sugar added".
Surely, juice companies all feel obligated to do it because their competitors are doing it too. Because otherwise, why would they? The claim is useless. In the EU, all drinks sold as juice are required to have no added sugar, and while no sugar was added, some is naturally present in the fruit, so this doesn't give any useful information to the buyer.
And then the claim needs to be followed by TWO disclaimers: that this is done because it's required by law, and that the drink still contains sugar.
Nobody wants this. Buyers get nothing from this, and I think no juice company would advertise this if it weren't the norm. This is an instance of "asbestos-free cereals" that we failed to stop.

exactly. From what I know, a blood-related couple shouldn't make a child. I think people can be trusted with that responsibility. Their relationship doesn't have to be illegal just because the possibility of this happening. This is the 21st century, we have condoms and abortion. People are usually able to not have a child.

2024-12-22 23:33:47 UTC

I'm not even into incest lol but like come on why do people think it's wrong, why do you care what two siblings do if they're not gonna have a child*. "Two sisters loving each other is deeply wrong" that's like saying two women can't love each other. You have no argument to back this up
Edit: * I only included "if they're not gonna have a child" because I haven't considered the moral implications of it. I heard that genetic birth defects due to incest are actually very rare. I am not very knowledgeable on the subject though

Okay so by signing a CLA you lost your right to be credited (often as a group, like "[Project] contributors"), not a big loss. Not that different from if you hadn't signed a CLA and they had to add a notice saying "Sourcegraph is based on the fork of Sourcegraph contributors, contributed under Apache 2.0"

a CLA means you allow specific people to use your code however they please
A permissive licence means you allow EVERYONE to use your code however they please, it's like granting a CLA to the owners, but you also grant it to everyone else lol

2024-08-20 12:07:24 UTC

- reply

I think you're misunderstanding their point. Yes, every copyright holder must agree to change the licensing terms of a piece of software. BUT, the licensing terms already allow relicensing...
You can take a piece of Apache licensed software, put it in proprietary software. You can fork Apache licensed software and decide that new contributions will be under a proprietary license. You can decide that on a fork you already run. That's what they did.
The previous versions are still under Apache 2.0, and whatever code left from those in their new version is also Apache 2.0, but the new stuff is proprietary. Making the whole proprietary too.

yeah!!! You can never take back something that has been publicly licensed

2024-08-20 11:40:41 UTC

To clear up some licencing misconception
A project doesn't need a CLA for an organisation to relicense it. If it's under a permissive licence, like MIT or Apache, then the owners can also change the licence and run away with all your hard work.

2024-08-20 11:36:44 UTC

- reply

not at all, if it's Apache 2.0 then you can relicence as you want.

2024-08-20 11:01:56 UTC

- reply

as far as I can tell, this is not the result of any CLA, just that the original project was under Apache 2.0, so anyone has the right to make a private fork, including whoever runs the original repository
