Hehehe, I promise you it wasn't anything too spicy. So anyway, I initially set up a Nostr relay on the server and everything was fine. But as soon as I started torrenting they got upset. And even when I stopped, they falsely accused me of carrying on. I think they just wanted their server back so they could rent it to someone else.

I'm always looking for a new project with raspberry pi's. Currently trying to build a semi-smart phone with a 2G wavshare modem and some code which was stolen from this project: https://github.com/evanman83/OURS-project
Kinda stuck though as while I can text and call - I can't make the audio work in either direction.

I recently set up a nostream relay on a vps using your guide - its was easy to follow by the way and I've got it working. Im learning lots and I'm trying to get my head round how the relay system determines where things get stored.

The method of just writing down the address and checking it on a block explorer works fine if all your funds are parked at one address. If youve used your wallet a few times and so have generated change addresses, then using the 'master public key', which can check all addresses at once, works best.

Set up a 'watch only wallet'. You only need the xpub/zpub. Then you can keep an eye on it without having to do a full 'wallet restore'. Also - to avoid heart attacks - write down the derivation path as well as your 12 or 24 words.

Its a great idea, I wish there was something like this for uk btc users. There used to be, it was called lastbit.io - It linked my lightning node to a prepaid debit card so I could add funds to the debit card by paying a lightning invoice. I think 'striga' which is part of this business, evolved out of lastbit.io. Anything which makes the conversion of btc to gbp frictionless is a win.
