The problem is, these days corpos are acting like a cabal and making similar changes to their products at the same time. Just look at subscription services in new cars where the physical abilities of the car behind their subscription slop. (not to mention that all new cars are rolling spy boxes)

The trick is code has strict syntax rules, unlike prose. Remember that people aren't just using LLMs to write software, and that's going to color their experiences using LLMs

The claim about PRNGs is just plain inaccurate. The issue with Dual EC DRGB is the constants used that the NSA selected, which have potential weaknesses and that they wanted it to be the default RSA encryption scheme used. That is not the same thing as all PRNGs being compromised.
The bit about accessing computers wirelessly when not connected to the internet doesn't pass muster, either. You can definitively test whether radios actually get turned off.

I'd experiment more with with the layout. The new setup looks cleaner, but my eye gets thrown off a bit by the center justification followed by the left aligned links, then the footer shortly after. I do similar to the old version where I have blog articles as the main home focus, then have common pages people might explore like About in the NavBar/AppBar.

If you haven't already seen how NewPipe (FOSS android YouTube client) handles error reporting, definitely would recommend using them as an example. If you can provide a way for users to not need to manually go to GitHub for issue submission, you're going to get more submissions for situations where things go wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if NewPipe has some automation to turn email submissions into issues

What they call the "magic quick release knot" just looks like what I've called a mooring line knot, which is a knot you can tighten like a two half hitches or taut-line, but with a quick release. You can apply that quick release technique with some other knots, too. It's just a matter of not feeding the whole end through when tying off the knot to get that effect

For what it's worth, the clove hitch tying method in that video is only going to work when you have an end of the object to push it over like that. Nice convenience, but more limited.
The "tent peg knot" is just a taut line hitch with a half hitch added in addition. Personally, I'd rather use two half hitches for the stake end instead of just one.

I'd say create a separate email account or alias specifically for the ad, then at least you don't contaminate your normal inbox. The way I have things set up is I can disable an alias at will if it starts getting spammed.

Probably just a question of aesthetics. A lack of ads is NEVER a problem. People looking at a glance care that the spacing/font/other visual elements are visually pleasing. That does not require a retina burning white background, since I prefer dark color schemes too. You don't need to go as far as a bootstrap variant like I use, but there is something to be said for hand editing your CSS to give things a nice look.

Got a few songs in the works, and soon to upload a cover of Over the Misty Mountains I worked on as part of an ocarina septet, Knights of the Round Flute. Will be putting both the audio and video into the valueverse, and hopefully will be able to use the response to get the holdouts in the group to set up LN addresses of their own so the split goes to all seven of us.

While being rained on both during my last show of the faire and camp teardown after, I had an audience who stayed despite the rain, and while I was playing Wayfaring Stranger in my set, two women were dancing to the song in the rain while one was singing along. From what I could hear of it, she had a beautiful voice, operatic even. I hope I can track down a picture from that show, because I'm rather curious how I looked playing wearing my full-circle wool cloak.

What should I consider for replacing the shared wallet on Alby?
I'm so exhausted from over 8 months of a futile search for a new software engineer role my wife, unprompted said to take a break from it.
I'm barely managing to even keep up regular ocarina practice, much seeing if my latest recordings are good enough for editing two tracks I want to publish.
I need something simple that's not going to accelerate the financial bleed with no day job.

Since I had a request recently to see what the ocarina collection looks like, this is the most recent photo of them. The total is 27 if we're only counting the ceramic ones pictured. In retrospect, missed a ceramic one my sis-in-law got me as a gift while in Japan and also neglected photographing the 3 plastic models I have. Only 2 away from that magic number 33 with the a grand total of 31. 🙂

I am still amazed at the overwhelming outpouring of support from the Skirmish yesterday. A lot of thank yous are in order.
