achieving pregnancy and reversing a vasectomy are two very different things, and i would say the former is not a very good benchmark for the latter.
Sure, the goal of getting a refertilization is probably pregnancy, but there are a shit ton of other factors to consider.
And efficacy of refertilization as well as getting a pregnancy are also dependent on age.
So it's not the same thing at all.

dude... If you smoke 60 a day from the age of 12, can you expect to die from cancer?
Some would say yes, but what you are implying here, is that since the chance is not 100% the answer is no.
Before refertilization you go through an exam, to check if your sperm chords are still well, if they are there's every chance refertilization will work.
And of course they phrase it the way they do on that website, is the material you'll be reading before getting one...

That's a Urologist saying they would estimate a 90% chance of having living sperm in the ejaculate after the procedure.
He also says that's there's no great studies showing certain numbers.
However: i know for a fact the state here provides refertilization, and they generally do not provide surgeries that are considered ineffectual, since thats just not worth the cost.

where the f are you from? We have 2 hospitals in Denmark where they reverse them. The greatest succes rate is if you get it done within 5 years. But it is very doable.

i am not disputing that at all
I do engineering and everything I spend time figuring out (in my job) is for a practical purpose.
So all i am saying is that from where i am sitting things like this look both fascinating and a funny thing to spend resources on.
I completely understand that for society at large, there's a value to just keep growing our knowledge base. Probably more value than the work i do day to day, for something like this.

I mean i believe i understood that. for all i read my attitude was mostly just meh, and any sympathy i had for the writer most just evaporated with the suggestion of using LLMs because in all honesty i cant help but think the same sort of rant could be written against the use of those...
In fact, just thinking about that makes me want to take the irony a step deeper, and feed html purist site to an LLM, instructing it to write a similar rant against the use of LLMs...

I am experimenting with MicroOS running btrfs and SELinux.
I have some storage i use for Minecraft server data for instance, on the position i have a directory with readonly snapshots. The server will not boot properly, because it's running auto relabeling and cannot relabel the readonly stuff.
What's the correct way to handle this? I've tried mounting the partition in different locations, but it seems everything is targeted by the relabel

i have a colleague who used to work at a company that makes nano satellites.
Everytime I mention something posted on here (and usually by you, or shared by you) he tells me to chill: "space is huge and the likelihood of that happening is minimal"
But it's getting harder and harder to believe that, especially after the night i watched a Starlink satellite train

i run elementary OS, and it does not have dist upgrade.
I used to reinstall Ubuntu too though, when switching LTS, just smoother that way.

a motherboard with a RISC V CPU that's powerful enough to run rust analyzer without any noticeable hanging (so basically core i7 8th gen or faster)

Sounds nice.
I know @npub19c6…ttya does something similar, but with the #elementaryOS Pantheon DE instead, if I remember correctly. I think I would prefer that. I really like Pantheon.
But overall the setup sounds very reasonably thought through. I wish I could convince the others at work to give this a solid look for a way to do 'central company laptop configuration'
Doing Ubuntu LTS jumps is honestly a huge pain in the butt every other year.

Yeah, I had a moment where I was at least I don't live in the US...
No, but it's not like the rest of the world will remain unaffected.
Sort of tense to see how the whole thing with pushing against Russia taking Ukraine will go now that Putins bitch is going to be in the white house.
I saw a map the other day saying that Denmark is the country that has provided to most support per capita to Ukraine. That's going to be fun if the US no longer has our back... 1/2
