As A Person With Certain Neurodivergent Tendencies
I took your initial question as an earnest inquiry
"Why are people doing this practice that is different than my practice?"
But I've noticed that you have a position which you've paraphrased as
"I think that my way of doing this has a certain cognitive advantage."
-- which is perfectly fair, but it's self-evident to me that different people have different brains and different values and thus arrange their affairs differently than me on a regular basis, and so even if I accept your cognitive advantage argument, it does not surprise me that many people would choose things differently
and therefore I'm a little confused
and wondering if maybe I should take your original inquiry as an affirmative values statement, which I paraphrase as "People Are Wrong To Do This The Way I Don't Like it"
... which you seem to have returned to once more??

yes but Functional Programming brain programmer is writing all *sorts* of anonymous inline functions nested in the middle of expressions, lambda style or not. (React is particularly strong about this in many styles, IIRC)
so why *not* just assign it to a const? it's just some code bound to that name, either way.
(actually, if i understand correctly, then assigning it to a const is a stronger guarantee you can't override it than you get with function. but that's likely an aside.)

there's more than one form of cognition, they both have their advantages, it's fine to like one better and be more comfortable with it

anyway to your actual question: i'm not a "js dev" for its own sake (actually these days i'm more of an actress) but lambda-style functions work anywhere else, why *not* use them here? just prefer the old-school aesthetics?

they gave me aloe cream with (something basi, hydrocortisone maybe) after mine
