for example, the Galilee sea in Israel has some crisis every fifteen years or so, because the Khula valley swamps (through which its origin, the Jordan river, flows) were dried to prevent Mallaria and Lutrias were imported from Russia for their fur then set free by some company when it became unprofitable
And they can't do a partial re swampening a la the Netherlands because the Lutrias, an invading species eat a lot of species unique to Israel, and more swamps = more living space for them
And climate change (less rain) doesn't help

note there are other forms of capitalism as well.
If you have capitalism, where the government taxes anyone with more than say 5m (I'm thinking in ILS; so, 1~3m$) *heavily*, like *incredibly heavily*, it's still capitalism. But it's a lot more manageable.
Your problem with heavily taxed systems like this is that you can't really have massive service providers like say Valve. And, because of how expensive it is to start mass production, it's possible only the government would have enough resources to do so (and I don't only mean bad for the environment stuff: I also mean like, food, and farming).
The first problem is solvable. Just make it decentralized, federated, etc. etc.
And the second is just arguable. People have been farmers for ages without being millionaires.
That leads to the third question though, how banks. (and the answer is probably "the government", banks being private makes no sense whatsoever).

I can show a direct correlation between using "Zionism" to mean Kahanism (which is an incredibly annoying form of cultural appropriation, btw) and posting on the Palestine guppe
For the love of god people use the fitting terms. Here's a "chart":
* Genocide? -> Kahanism
* Supporting a *Jewish state* for the Jewish people (including within a two state solution)? -> Zionism
* Supporting a single, atheic state for *both peoples*? -> Post-Zionism
*Additionally*, Zionism, serves as an umbrella term for all three; but Zionism itself isn't genocidal. And on top of all of that, in Hebrew, "Zionist" means "patriotic".
And is Post-Zionism Zionism? Well, eh, kinda, yes, depends, sure.

do note catalysts are able to *create* sensors and shriekers by absorbing XP, so don't rely on a patch you've already discovered not having a shrieker; block the catalyst with wool, or break it with a hoe.

2024-08-11 12:59:49 UTC

- reply

the warden only triggers after *three* sculk shriekers, which make a sound you can't miss.
Shriekers only generate around and from catalysts, that only generate when there's a *lot* of sculk around, and timeout for iirc 300 ticks after being activated (15 seconds; or is it 300 seconds? Don't remember).
To get a Warden to jump scare you, you'd need to be unlucky enough to not notice the sculk, trigger three different sensors, which would trigger three different catalysts, which would then summon the warden. And you'll still have around a minute, a minute and a half to escape.
Plus, pretty sure `/gamerule doWardenSpawn` (or something similar) exists.
Don't walk into ancient cities; and you won't have to encounter a Warden. Cityless sculk biomes rarely contain shriekers.

they claim they allow both islamists and Kahanists to reduce discrimination; however, that's simply false.
"I hate them all isn't racist" is a fallacy. It's not a matter of *who* one hates; it's the fact that one hates.
The idea itself, that rights are based on ethnicity, religion, or culture, is discriminatory and racist. Allowing multiple flavours of it doesn't make it not racist, nor does it make it safe, which is a basic necessity for the fediverse; we block here not because it's ethically bad, we block because it's *offensive*; because it could *hurt someone*. Yes, hurt their emotions. Because we care.
So maybe I'm wrong here, Linux rocks, but yet still, that space isn't safe, and it'll therefore be blocked, as it should be.

Clearly, yes. And vice versa.
This is from an admin of LinuxRocks.online. Regardless of the admin's intentions (which I have a lot to say about), that makes that instance an unsafe place - not only for Jews, but for any minority - the mindset is my point.
And it's not "Israelis don't have the same rights because they colonized" (which in itself is a faulty argument); it says *Jews*, and it's not a part of a discussion about the Israeli Palestinian conflict, but about Lunduke being Lunduke. They're trying to use leftist people's views, and a genocide, to legitimize discrimination.

About [this one](https://slate.com/culture/2024/08/olympic-boxers-gender-test-controversy-explained.html ) --- this isn't even transphobia. It's xenophobia in a trenchcoat. If those women were white, people would just think they're a tomboy, and move on "because there are women that like sports" - it simply makes sense for those bigots; afterall, they need a way to justify the existence of women's sports to themselves, don't they?
But the moment they ain't white - more specifically, the moment that their culture's and ethnicity's "identifiers" for masculinity are different from the bigots' - they have to fit into *some* template, and the nearest template they can find is "trans". Because bigots hate differences, and they would do anything to make all differences into one - "*them*".

There's a reason the center doesn't care about Palestine anymore, btw. They're worn out of it. They just want their family back and forget about it. Because once it seems that a group of people want you dead, even if it's actually just some of them, at some point, you just stop caring about them.

No middle eastern country but Israel even has a sizable Jewish population left - they've all escaped to Israel as they were suspected to be spies just as Japanese people have in WW2 America.
Half the countries in the middle east don't even control all of their land because of religious conflicts! There are hundreds if not thousands of cases of mass massacres a year!
Hamas clearly changed their charter exactly for you and other people that believe that no, it'll play nice, and *not* kill the people that have stepped on its honour and rights for decades. Remember that thing called blood revenge? Or its Jewish equivalence, tooth under tooth, eye under eye?

I oppose both as both want to kill me.
Two things can be true at once. This is not a fallacy in any way at all. I can love cats *and* dogs. The fact that the Likud sucks does not mean Hamas doesn't. That theoretical question of mine is a facade: who would you rather have killed. Jews, or Muslims. So yes, answering with anything other than "neither" is racist.
"Who would you rather control Israel and Palestine? A genocidal Jewish party that wants to kill all Palestinians, or a genocidal Palestinian party that wants to kill all Jews?"
Are you seriously arguing with me that it's possible to answer anything but "neither" to this answer without being racist?

2024-08-02 19:09:27 UTC

two different things. One, don't compare deaths as an argument (Israel bad Israel killed more), because ultimately, both sides would claim the other still has a price to pay. You *can't*-ish make equivalence, because no one agrees on the numbers. *You* can do a "roughly" (I'd recommend going with Israel for Israeli death count, and half of the lowest between the Palestinian and Gazan health ministries; Israel publishes accurate if not lower than actual death count, and I'm skeptical about Hamas and the PA), but you can't sign a peace deal. It's just a bad argument for a lot of reasons I can explain if not for length limit.
You shouldn't prefer one of them, as death is bad either way. That is: both Hamas and the Likud have commuted war crimes, therefore both are illegitimate.
Both are illegitimate, and both would commit *more* war crimes given the opportunity, hence why I'm saying: there's no reason to prefer one over the other than pure racism/antisemitism/islamophobia/etc.

2024-08-02 09:40:40 UTC

- reply

clearly, there's been a misunderstanding.
I'm not implying here what is right and wrong within the actual conflict. I'm talking about how people pick a side, without researching its history, merely for reasons of, in this case, racism.
Israel has killed more, yes; but even that is *somewhat* wrong in this context -- a context of who *would* kill more. And regardless, Hamas still killed.
It is true, no one picks a side purely off of racism; but it is often a huge factor. The question of, "who *would* you support?" doesn't apply to the actual conflict as the Likud has indeed killed more, factually. It is not a point regarding who's right and wrong, and I think you missed that. But it comes up a lot. And there are people that answer "Hamas".
I'm not making a point about the conflict; I'm making a point about how people choose who (if any) to support.
Question is, did you misunderstand me, or do you fundamentally disagree with me somewhere.

alright. That assumption is made cause when you ask people that, and they actually have a preference, that's, well, racist. Why choose one, say, fully democratic and free nation over another? Or one genocidal nation over another? If they're equally good/bad and powerful, of course.
Some people, actually a lot of people, have an answer that isn't "neither". And it's racist. And lots of time talking about the conflict I encounter people whose opinions are that Israel has no right to exist at all; when that isn't true, and much more complex, but they just instantly assumed "white" equals "bad guys". Regardless of whether they're right, it's racism.

oh for the love of god
Are you incapable of thinking one step reality
Yes, I'm aware of this. But I'm not talking about the conflict. I'm talking about the racism that causes people to form their opinion one way or another about the conflict, which can be shown by asking who they prefer *assuming* both sides are equal and democratic and blah blah blah *although* they're not.

of course. Doesn't mean you should support it; just means besting it won't solve the problem

oppose as much as you want; but oppose Hamas and the PA just as much.
And that's a thing most people don't do.
Btw, one of Hamas' biggest goals is to bring all Palestinians back to their homeland. That's the exact same thing as Israel's colonization, the exact same talking points. The only difference: Person.isWhite.

it's some sort of way for people to show remorse for *being of the historically oppressing class* themselves; as this is mostly a talking point I get from white people (in the American definition; as they usually are Americans).
Instead of thinking about how we can make people's lives actually better, they think of what's "racially just" and what land belongs to what "race", with race being a group of people they themselves have categorized, not the people in question.
This is why Israelis laugh at American pro-Palestinians, btw. Because ultimately, this preference of Palestine over Israel - instead of calling out both - is derived from racism. And the hypocrisy is just hilarious.
(Clarification: this also applies the other way around. Preferring Israel in a situation where both are equally bad; just hate both)

it's very easy to call people "white" or "black" or "indian" or "Arab" but truly ethnicity isn't about skin color, it's about culture, religion.
And it's very easy to justify preferring an opposite status quo where "white" people are oppressed over the current status quo where "non-white" people are oppressed, for some reason, with the justification of "the non-white are native, it's their land." And I've seen almost 1:1 correlation with people who prefer that over the status quo (instead of having no preference at all) with those that call me white and blame my state (and usually, me personally, too) for "enforcing white privilege".

for me, an Israeli, it's incredibly easy to spot a racist: whenever they call me white, or the state enforcing white privilege.
Yes, my skin color is white.
But no, I have family from Yemen, Kazakhstan, Morocco...
And I have European, *Jewish* family. Not white, Jewish.
Whenever someone goes, "yes, but you're white, you don't understand...". What is this word, "white"? What does it mean? Because I have Arab-Israeli friends whose skin color is lighter than mine. All the difference between us isn't really ethnicity, but religion.
We, here, have "Israeli", "Arab Israeli", "Palestinian", "Arab", and "Gazan". Those are theoretically ethnicities, but the differences are actually in where people live geographically, their religion, and their citizenship, not their skincolor. You'll notice it's a table, actually: Religion and Citizenship. There are also Palestinian Jews, Samarians.

Biden is an enabler, Trump is a supporter.
In my POV, the US is no longer a democracy - vote for survival, not for support.
I.e. condem Israel? Can but won't vote for Biden? Hypocrite.
I perfectly understand why people don't want to vote for him. But I'm failing to understand why they won't vote for him.

it also caused more people not to vote at all - now convinced that both sides would assassinate the other.
