as far as I know Brother HL-L2445DW (or similar models) are great. good toner and drum from 123inkt too. I bought one ten/eleven years ago and it's still in use
HP is increasingly creating proprietary DRM'ed cartridges, which prevent the use of unofficial ones. Dunno whether the same applies to toner/drum – fyi

A lot of people are doing [@Mer__edith](https://mastodon.world/@Mer__edith ) a disservice, and are hyperfocusing on minor incorrect bits.
I am happy for people to disagree, yet the way we disagree with one another matters. Mastodon bro's are quick to jump on a high horse and it disappoints me to see this being such a common response.
There is a reason lots of folk do not engage on Mastodon cuz of this - I know a ton of them
