water didn't really fully penetrate until recently. it used to steam up in cold weather but it would evaporate in direct sunlight. but eventually it turned into puddle, the display started glitching, and it wasn't long before the whole thing died

@nprofile…vvev I'd add: focus on the local scale. we can't fix climate change all on our own, but we can make sure when the heavy rains come that the ground is permeable enough to absorb water instead of flooding; we can make sure that on hot, hot days that we have the shelter of trees to protect us from the heat island effect
