The decadence was just insult to injury or perhaps a proof that the nobles did not serve a role within that society as they claimed to, but rather acted as a parasite than a symbiote at the very least.
Whenever we see taxes that don't lead to an improvement in our quality of life or at least actions that align with our goals, that means our own work is being corrupted towards an end we didn't want when we worked.
Nobody likes to be decieved like this, when we work towards a goal we don't want someone taking all our work and putting it towards something else. That's what corruption is at the heart of it.
Capitalism is kind of a clever trick because it makes you think you're just working towards a paycheck, but you're not, every hour clocked at walmart is work towards harvesting the rest of the rainforest. Every hour clocked at the corner store connected to the gas station owned by BP is work towards exploding people who are in the way of oil drilling.
And that's not to mention how every cent of american taxes (except the gas tax actually goes directly to roads) is work you did, hard labor, that helps america be an imperialist super power. But how many american workers are actually on board with that? How many of them actually go "9/11 was worth it because starving people in the middle east helps me have a larger TV and an Xbox!"
They don't even know what they're doing.
The nobles in these movies, the people they're based on, did they know what they were doing? There's actually a good chance the answer is no. What even happens to a person when they are taken from a privileged childhood and told "you're the king now, your job is to set taxes and make big decisions about what people in this region do" and it's the church telling you?

haha I didn't get away with shit. I didn't do any schoolwork or homework. I was constantly in trouble and whenever I was told I'd be expelled I was like "okay good, I don't want to be here anyways" detention was, if I was lucky, a place without other kids so that was fine with me too.
I was devestated once when I realized I forgot to give my parents the notice of suspension and accidentally went to school on a day when I was supposed to be being rewarded for my behavior by getting to stay home.

When fighting, any part of your body can be loose/relaxed, or tense. It's so important to know when to tense what, and to otherwise be relaxed. But I suppose that if you can't reflexively tense you can try pre-tensing certain parts, for example try this, take a stance that protects most parts of your body (including your solar plexus) but leaves your abs open. If you have strong abs you can tense them, you will lose some mobility but if your opponent takes the bait and tries to punch your abs (then they're a noob) then you can tank the damage and look for an opportunity to punish, maybe with a clinch and knees or some kind of "triangle"? (I don't do BJJ)
This kind of proactive tensing can make you more predictable/reactable. If you've ever read any of my posts about martial arts and took an interest in applying the knowledge found within, please follow the advice bellow:
Learn the basics!
You need to learn how your energy flows in your body, how to position your feet, what angle to turn your hands at when you punch, block etc. How to, when you block, transfer the force into the ground beneath your feet and the opposite force into the opponents body. When you learn these things you need to drill them until your muscle memory knows it.
I'm sorry, but there is no other way. If you neglect this step, you may simply injure yourself trying to learn a more advanced technique. No cap.
Find a training buddy, discuss in detail with them the technique you're considering learning and how you want to go about practicing it. You need to drill the technique until your body remembers it, and then you need to use it in an applied context. In other words you should then start to learn how the technique is countered and what moves you can do in response to common counters.
This is an endless process as far as I know it. In all my studies, I've never found a technique with no counter. Every move can be negated if you act soon enough and if there's real mastery of this fact on both sides then fights can come down to physical fitness. But that's rare, usually technique wins and physical fitness plays a secondary role in strategy. In the sense that an experienced fighter can gauge the opponents stamina and their own, and managing stamina effectively can be a path to victory if you're more fit, or can be just something you have to do alongside strategizing effectively and performing your tech correctly in order to not gain too big a disadvantage.
I myself have low stamina so stamina management and defensive techniques have been a reliable ally in the fights I've participated in. It's important to understand yourself, physically speaking, in order to effectively strategize.

Well, idk if it's my soul, I think the luck came from the kind of childhood I had.
No pocket computers, if you want to use the internet you have to sit and listen to the dial-up tone and only when the adults aren't using the phone.
No childcare or anything and a single parent so had to wait alllllll the time, waiting at the doctor, waiting at the dentist, waiting at the bank, waiting at the food bank, waiting at work under a desk because again, no childcare, waiting at home alone with nothing but old school naughty dog crash bandicoot. Also literally every game back then was hard af and if you wanted cheat codes, again wait for dial-up or wait until the weekend when you can go to the library.
Oh and I didn't do a lick of school work which meant school was all waiting and then more waiting because of the frequent detention.
So yeah I'm pretty sure I'm patient as a survival mechanism rather than an inherent trait.

Haha, maybe. I mean, you telling me the bosses are harder now almost makes me want to play it. Once I figure out a good place to post videos as Zest, I can upload an old video of me taking on some bosses I'm underleveled for.
I almost never get impatient and frustrated with games though.
I play as much as I want to and no more. If I'm not going to have a good time I either stop playing or cheat, but it takes a lot to get me to not have a good time in a game especially one I actually wanted to play.

1 big heads (and indeed small heads) are a simple change to make to your shooter, especially if the head is already a seperate part because it can be blown off and also is the main weakpoint. It also effects gameplay with larger heads making a shooter easier and smaller heads making it harder. This was explicitly stated on the website where I found those cheats for turok back in the day. (Ahh how I loved the "cerebral bore" weapon)
2. Well the era you're talking about was the golden age of cheat codes. Almost every game had cheat codes and while some made the game easier or harder, most cheat codes just did silly things.
Grand theft auto had enough weird cheatcodes that selecting a specific group of them felt like picking a modpack almost. I played through all of vice city with all the cars replaced with flying pink Cadillacs and the citizens all armed with random weapons and rioting constantly.
It stopped because developers stopped building in this silly secrets and started 1, making their games quite serious without much nonsense and tomfoolery, and 2, let players just mod games or use hacks to cheat and stopped really including those secret modes at all. I remember an overlap with gameshark and regular codes and playiplayingn twilight princess with a gameshark felt as customizable as playing grand theft auto with cheat codes and the developers didn't have to do any extra work to make that the case. I played through twilight princess as dark link while taking tripple damage and dealing 1/4th damage. This made fighting a regular bokoblin with 3 hearts and a wooden sword basically a mini boss.

Well that wasn't the case, we put torque on the center of the wheel and the angular momentum forced the wheel sideways. It turned at a 90 degree angle to what we expected. I still don't get how that happens but the teacher said the point is that your intuition about physics can be wildly misleading.

I played back when the stone kingdom was a thing and then they added I think an electric island but I didn't go there yet so I'm not sure.
Anyways I had wind and earth and I just have to say gendhin impact would have been a really excellent game if they had just given you the characters when they canonically meet you and join you in the storyline, and if they had stripped out the RPG progression and equipment upgrade systems and just made it an action game with gated progression.
The most fun I was able to have in genshin impact was fighting a boss with severely underleveled characters and equipment.
The best challenges I found for higher levels was some time based challenge which like, boring, your systems are way more robust than just "how much dps can you get" but you're effectively only testing me on that?
And of course doing daily's to grind out random character pulls takes up so much time I barely ever have time to progress the story or explore...
Well maybe things have changed since then but, to my disappointment I couldn't keep playing that one.

The one piece of advice I'd give, though it may be something you're aware of but simply didn't think to mention. Is to look out for ways to use the terain to your advantage.
High ground is the classic, doorways can be useful, knock a chair over in between you and an enemy if you can. Basically anything you can do to make it a pain to get to you or force your opponent to be in a specific position when they get to you (making them predictable)

Idk if anybody knows about this but humans on a base level have approximately 6 threat ranges. More if they have weapons or if there's something nearby that they can throw.
Once you have to take 2 steps to reach a target it's no longer considered a threat range since you have to make 2 seperate movements to reach your target, which gives a martial artist just enough time to stance up and be on full gaurd.
Needless to say if you're inside someone's threat range, especially the smaller ones, that if you're not on full gaurd then there are things they can do to you that aren't going to be possible to defend against.
That can put you one step behind in a fight. Granted it's true that the vast majority of people do not know how to fight on a level where each motion matters, and if you do, well, you'll catch up quickly. But who wants to get hit even once? So when someone gets me in their threat range I go on a partial gaurd (basically position myself and prepare mentally in a way that doesn't make me look like I'm trying to start a fight. My life would be so much easier if we were allowed to stance up on anyone who gets too close.) And I don't feel a lack of confidence or anything. I also can ignore the 2 longest threat ranges for most people cus you can just tell they can't take a step that fast and actually the 3rd longest isn't available to a lot of people either, so unless you look fairly fit I'm actually kind of okay as long as you can't just reach out and touch me with your hands. That's too close for anyone to be. Natural threat range number 4. Punch range, knife range, shallow grab range (shallow grabs are grabbing a shirt or wrist or hair or throat with your arms fully extended. These are incredibly easy to break, don't bother unless your enemy has zero clue how to fight and if that's the case... stop bullying people?)
The next and final threat range is true close quarters (also did I miscount? CQ1 punch/long knee2 kick3 step punch4 step kick5 jumpkick6 oh okay yeah I counted right at first but forgot about jump kicks because almost nobody can do one and they're kind of easy to avoid/counter unless the shaolin monk flying at you is a real master and if that's the case you probably made a much bigger mistake in life than can be solved by fighting well)
If you get close enough to elbow someone you deserve whatever happens to you. The police shouldn't be allowed to interfere with me plucking out your eyeballs with my fingers and force feeding them to you at that point.

ah, I wonder if that's what's wrong with my SD card. I was thinking maybe it was one of those fake large storage mediums you know the scam where you take a small flash drive or SD card and you hack it so that it tricks computers into thinking it's much larger than it is so then when you save more data than it can hold it like, overwrites your data because they made it recursive?

I call this pairing (the two on the left, psychopath kyo and nirvana on a team together) "psychopath kyo's dream date".
They're a highly effective pair, capable of taking out even rather difficult challenges.
Make no mistake however, she's the one making them powerful.
While his aggressive comboing and how good he is at hitting moving targets pairs well with her omnipresent zoning threat to create something truly oppressive, he's far from the best character at that role.
I paired them because there are references to nirvana the band (like "R.I.P. Kurt Cobain") however I do like that their combined might creates a spectacle that I feel must be how it is inside psychopath kyo's addled mind. Like that's probably how he sees the fights he wins.
