I get the impression large lithium batteries are like helicopters. Their primary goal is to catch on fire and explode, and it takes huge amounts of effort to make that not happen and do something useful with them.

All the bullshit going on with Windows these days I am glad I decided to install Linux on my new gaming computer. I'm mostly cool with AI stuff, but on MY terms, not having it shoved down my neck.
Honestly, the last straw was the fact my Steam Deck could play just about anything that would fit on the drive and it made me realize I didn't need Windows for gaming anymore.
I do keep a MacBook for the occassions I need a commercial operating system.

Realistically, there's just going to be A LOT of unsupported Windows 10 computers running without getting updates and the users simply not caring (or even knowing).
Also, I have to wonder how many home Windows 10 systems are shut down, or sitting idle, while the owners user their phones and tablets for an overwhelming vast majority of daily computing.
What's really killing Windows for everyday people is iOS and Android.

One job required certain attendance conditions for promotion. So I busted my butt, didn't miss a day, for six months. Then got told my "revenue per call" was too low for a technical support job and, after a panic attack while on the way home from work, I quit.
Revenue per call, on calls related to fixing broken Internet service. Sell people even more service that won't work. And 3/4 of the calls were service down due to non-payment.

How much would the CEO of a similar sized for-profit company make? Then realize they need to attract and retain the same quality talent.
It's a super, super common complaint about non-profits that doesn't take into account the reality of the job market for wanting to attract and retain qualified employees.
Also, you want a non-profit to have reasonable quality equipment and facilities. Which bumps up the amount of overhead they have.

And SO MANY tabletop RPG home rules.
Some of them were for Twilight: 2000 v2.2 and did a lot to fix and expand on rules that had gone out of print in 1993. (Currently, the latest Twilight: 2000 edition is trying to justify its existence against the ones from the 90s, with homebrew rules.)
IIRC, Steve Jackson Games hosted a USENET page specifically for their games and presented it through a one-way web interface. I think it's also where FUDGE first got published.

When we first got it in 1996 there was an amazing page for the anime Bubblegum Crisis that went into details about how weapons were sourced in obscure ways (like paying Vietnam for US 105mm fléchette shells for railgun ammunition) and, basically, Batman Begins techniques of hiding it in plain sight as "failed prototypes" on the ledger.
Another was for the Irish band Clannad and at the time it was better their official page. Beautiful web design, even today, in static HTML.

My first (non-cartoon) celebrity crush was Annie Lennox in the video for Sweet Dreams. (I didn't know it was a crush then, but looking back...) When VH1 would run a Eurythmics marathon my parents wouldn't change the channel because it kept normally super hyper me happy.
When I was 11yo, I begged my parents to let me cut my hair like her in the video, and they let me over the summer, along with an 80s boy's suit. It made church... Interesting...

I use One Drive (on Linux and macOS) and trust Microsoft to back it up more often than I could manage. I have stuff that gets backed up, in significant ways, multiple times a day, and I just play video games and write fiction for fun. There's no way I could, for instance, maintain a reasonable backup at a friend's house without some technical means that are out of my (and the friend's) ability to handle, while Microsoft does it automatically.

In the USA they're gone, until next June or July. Then they'll be a force of nature.
In the USA winter, I miss the cicadas, until they come back. Then I'll hate the heat of summer until Autumn in September.
I feel for Australians for having the opposite seasons to the USA. And, I feel for them for not having the same snow and winter in their proper season. If June is your winter, then you need snow and as an American I give it to you.

If this passed where I live, I'd accept it without question and openly piss off other drivers who want me to turn.
I work as a driver for a major pizza chain and our cars are tracked by GPS, so even when I'm not working, I drive safer than most people. (It helps keep my gas mileage down.)

This is SO true...
I'm a night person who used to work as a teacher's aide and had to be up in the middle of the night to go to work. (When school starts at 7am, and it won't be dawn for another 2 hours, you're starting school in the middle of the night.) I frequently went to work without having slept the night before and dropped dead the moment I got home.

I got a Steam Deck and realized how capable Linux was for gaming and the next time I made a gaming desktop I put Bazzite Linux on it.
I was big into Windows from 7 until 11, but I couldn't abide the spyware changes anymore. I moved to macOS, but the hardware, while amazing because Apple Silicon is hard to beat, was limited by RAM, so I sold my M2Pro MacMini and build an all AMD midrange desktop running Linux for gaming.

The company that makes Terraria is based in a small, Indiana town near me called Floyd's Knobs (Which is also the name of the geographic feature the town is built on.). Many of the roads to and from it are extremely windy, going up the sides of steep hills cut by the Ohio River, and provides a good view of Louisville, Kentucky.

Even macOS is more open than Windows 11, and it's notorious for how locked down it is. Even in an FOSS sense because most of the UNIX parts of macOS are under various FOSS licenses. (Though, not GPL or LGPL.)
There's even a desktop OS called Darwin that feels like a desktop Linux that uses the macOS XNU kernel.
