No, no apparent strategy.
Unless the strategy is to vaporize >165 people (mostly kids) at a girl’s school, dramatically enhance the legacy of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, an 86-year-old man who was dying of cancer and now enjoys the legacy of being a martyr (see next msg for source on this), and accidentally murder alternative leaders.
Not to mention, put US troops in harm's way (4 dead so far, POTUS casually says more likely), destruction of US bases, spike oil prices, etc.

just to clarify, I'm not calling it overly paranoid at all. sorry, my "WHAT?" was meant to illustrate shock, not disbelief.
ICE/CBP is dangerous gang of thugs, and it's horrifying they have such a huge budget (nearly doubled by H.R.1., to 18+ Billion.yr).

💯!! "The law" and "the courts" won't "save us." Not just because they're not inclined to do so, but also structurally that's not what they were designed to do.

I've seen some (better) outlets refer to Pretti and others as "observers," which seems slightly more accurate? Highlights that what ICE/CBP find threatening is being observed and (gasp!) filmed. The "weapon brandished" was a phone recording their activities.

exactly this. Their "tells" slip out. Such as they can't imagine a community being outraged at injustice (instead, they must be "paid protestors!"), or they can't fathom neighbors pooling resources to offer free coffee and hand warmers (instead, that must be "corporate support!"), etc.
It's as if they have zero sense of community, empathy, or morality beyond what their evangelical pastor tells them.
