I live on a council estate close to a #parkrun and have been thinking about the lack of participation from my neighbours. I think the barriers are
* the cost of proper running shoes
* a cultural thing where #running is seen as just the preserve of the white middle classes
* maybe a fear of looking stupid and feeling out of place?
I’d like to think that a wider demographic could enjoy the benefits of running, but there are clearly barriers.

Went #running with the local club last night. I’m just back with them after a three year break. I’m almost at the back of the pack but very proud that I’m able to do it. 500m elevation gain was really tough.
Think I stopped last time because I was in a relationship and couldn’t be arsed to push it anymore. Don’t want to make that mistake again. Just need to lose a few pounds to make the runs easier.
Feeling so good this morning - cobwebs blown away.

Surreal to think that I was in a cell waiting to be interviewed by the #police two weeks ago today after things went spectacularly wrong at home. I’d never dreamt of being locked up before and it was every bit as bad as you might imagine. I got zero sleep and there were a few madmen kicking off throughout the night. Being unable to leave the small room, having no real bed and having to poop in the corner in full view of CCTV with the threat of staff walking in at any moment was quite something.

Really not sure if the relationship can hold together now that we’re resuming having the kids live us. My kids are scared. C feels hard done to by that.
I’ve told C that buying a house together and getting married are both off the cards indefinitely. I’ve also said that moving out of the town I live in is off the cards forever (she’s persistently been trying to get me to relocate).

C and I are in the last chance saloon. We’ve got my kids after school today for the first time since the incident a week and a half ago. They’re very upset and afraid of C. I spoke to the kids last night and tried to allay their concerns. C overheard and was upset at how I handled the conversation. I returned to the spare bedroom and slept there after having shared a bed for the first time since the incident the night before.

Going to be weird being single again although the relationship has been that bad for the last year that I’ve already felt pretty single.
I love being in a loving relationship but most of my relationships have been car crashes so I need a big chunk of time on my own to heal, get stable, wade through the complexities of the separation, get some therapy etc. Gonna just have to meet my needs through #porn for a while.

Things blew up phenomenally last weekend and not in a good way. I can’t be bothered to type out the juicy details but suffice to say the relationship is over. I’m not telling her until Monday as she’s presently too dysregulated - possibly dangerously so. We’ve got an extended #mentalhealth / couples counselling session on Monday where I’ll break the news to her. Super complicated as we have an 18 month old together and a blended family with 4 older kids.
