Abstract
Multiple cosmological observations hint at neutrino self-interactions beyond the standard model, yet such interactions face severe constraints from terrestrial experiments. We resolve this tension by introducing a model where active neutrinos resonantly convert to self-interacting dark radiation after BBN but before CMB epoch. This exploits the fact that cosmological observables cannot distinguish between neutrinos and dark radiation with the same abundance and free-streaming properties. Our mechanism, based on a simple type-I seesaw framework along with a keV scale scalar mediator, achieves two objectives: (i) it produces strongly self-interacting dark radiation that imitates neutrino self-interactions favored by cosmological data, and (ii) it depletes the active neutrino energy density, relaxing cosmological neutrino mass bounds and easing the tension with neutrino oscillation data. The model naturally evades laboratory constraints through suppression of the neutrino-mediator coupling by the squared mass ratio of active and sterile neutrinos. We show that this scenario is favored over Λ⁢CDM by the combined Planck and DESI data, while being consistent with all other constraints. Our mechanism is testable in future laboratory probes of absolute neutrino mass and searches for sterile neutrinos.

Yes, well, moving past John's point:
Easier said than done. Current things like Lean are lots better than the systems of years ago, but -- do you have any specific ideas?
I used to follow that area of technology, but I somewhat burned out on it. For now, Terry Tao et al is getting good mileage out of Lean.
I suppose there's some analogy with the period of shift from Peano axioms to ZFC and beyond.

But we know that in mathematics, there are always other paths, and truths follow from axioms / axiom schemas, which themselves can vary.

Use of white phosphorus on civilians is horrific beyond words, and unquestionably constitutes a terrible war crime.
The loophole is always that the aggressors, like Israel here, claim that the use was on a military target, and civilians nearby were merely unfortunate.
I don't believe them, but proving it in the right jurisdiction is another matter.

Stop me if I've told you before:
I find that a very tough subject, but in the 1980s I was friends with Arunas Rudvalis when he temporarily moved to my area, discoverer of the Rudvalis sporadic simple group (order 145,926,144,000 = 2^14 * 3^3 *5^3 * 7 * 12 * 29); he's a very very smart guy (long retired), I learned a lot about (non-group theory) math from him.
At one point I threw a party that he attended, and he was very excited: "do you have the latest Scientific American? I'm in it!"
I did have it (quite the coincidence that the party and the publication happened at the same time), and he showed everyone the article about the completion of classification (*), and the non-mathematician partiers had no idea what he had done but were all duly impressed. :)
On one of my visits with him, he said that, since his specialty was finished (he didn't care about the long wrap-up that followed), he was switching to...I think he called it "probability theory". I expressed surprise that he was moving to another area that surely was also almost done, but he said "no no, it's not; take *all* of mathematics and make the variables random ones -- that's the topic, so it will never be finished"
Just one example of him blowing my mind by enlarging my perspective.

Your theory is wrong. Lots of music can be made on just the
diatonic major scale. Make everything triadic, and so long as the
minor supertonic (ie d minor over C major) is avoided, you are
home free.

Nice that it brings back memories for you.
My dad wasn't very musical, but he did mention that "Lili Marleen" was popular with both the allies and the axis during WWII, (confirmed -- it wasn't just my dad saying so) which is weird. Marlene Dietrich sang the version that the allies heard (including my dad, who bombed Nazi Germany). It was used in the famous film "Judgement in Nuremberg".

Yes, Einstein's work is typically discussed as if he was working complete ab initio, as if like Athena sprung fully formed from the brow of Zeus, without mention of precursor work, but of course Einstein, although brilliant, was not working in a vacuum. His work was enabled by multiple other mathematicians and physicists.
Without prompting my memory, the first obvious such is Minkowski.

I'm not so sure about adding anything multi-paradigm to the list, but I see that that point can be argued.
I see the motivation for all of them, in any case.
Except that I haven't really looked much at Python, and not at all at Elixer, unlike all those other languages (several of which I've even implemented 🙂 ), so I don't have an opinion otherwise.

True, and there are various arguments for and against each of those (and for any language, of course).
But note that you are sort of underscoring his point. C++ began as "C With Classes", a mix of C and Smalltalk (and then added a truly vast amount of avoidable complexity on top of that).
Haskell and OCaml are similarly mixes of Standard ML and other ideas.
I agree that entirely separate paradigms were introduced by SQL, Lisp (not Scheme), Prolog, and APL (not J) historically. So those fit in the list.
And it's fair to bend the rules and use Scheme as an improvement over Common Lisp, and to use J, a good modernization of APL.
I think Amen was aiming at fairly pure examples of foundational paradigms, not "best language to use", but any discussion of these things can quickly get complicated.

The circle of fifths helps clarify the topic. In fact for most western music it is essential to master thinking in terms of it (despite the "contradiction" that, descending in the other direction, it's the circle of fourths).
None of this is illogical, not one little bit. The *terminology* of course derives from historical accident.

Fleshing that out a touch:
People who moved from twitter to places like hereabouts when they did, triggered by events, presumably have a set of traits that are less common in people who stayed on twitter.
(I know there are people who had already been here for years, but I don't know their traits, and I think the refugees are the larger population here anyway)
The traits in question *might* predispose certain attitudes towards AI.
It's food for thought; I don't immediately see a good way to test the idea, though, so....thought is good 🙂 .

OTOH someone said that a conditional, "if", is being added to CSS, which brings it closer. If they add looping with something like "while", then it becomes a programming language, albeit a problematic one.

And there are many choices of a coordinate system, including coordinate-free.
Practical applications typically emphasize a particular choice because it has been found to be useful in that context, but that doesn't mean that it's the only choice, and in pure math it is often useful to dismiss them altogether.
Bridging pure math and applied math for practical applications can be complex and confusing, but it's good to remember that they *are* different domains.

There are many common distributions of noise, including this one, and they are all of technical interest. In signal processing I usually see them addressed in terms of Fourier Analysis, but of course that's just the start.

1987 - Larry Wall falls asleep and hits Larry Wall's forehead on the keyboard. Upon waking Larry Wall decides that the string of characters on Larry Wall's monitor isn't random but an example program in a programming language that God wants His prophet, Larry Wall, to design. Perl is born.
1990 - A committee formed by Simon Peyton-Jones, Paul Hudak, Philip Wadler, Ashton Kutcher, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals creates Haskell, a pure, non-strict, functional language. Haskell gets some resistance due to the complexity of using monads to control side effects. Wadler tries to appease critics by explaining that "a monad is a monoid in the category of endofunctors, what's the problem?"
1991 - Dutch programmer Guido van Rossum travels to Argentina for a mysterious operation. He returns with a large cranial scar, invents Python, is declared Dictator for Life by legions of followers, and announces to the world that "There Is Only One Way to Do It." Poland becomes nervous.
1995 - At a neighborhood Italian restaurant Rasmus Lerdorf realizes that his plate of spaghetti is an excellent model for understanding the World Wide Web and that web applications should mimic their medium. On the back of his napkin he designs Programmable Hyperlinked Pasta (PHP). PHP documentation remains on that napkin to this day.

1973 - Robin Milner creates ML, a language based on the M&M type theory. ML begets SML which has a formally specified semantics. When asked for a formal semantics of the formal semantics Milner's head explodes. Other well known languages in the ML family include OCaml, F#, and Visual Basic.
1980 - Alan Kay creates Smalltalk and invents the term "object oriented." When asked what that means he replies, "Smalltalk programs are just objects." When asked what objects are made of he replies, "objects." When asked again he says "look, it's all objects all the way down. Until you reach turtles."
1983 - In honor of Ada Lovelace's ability to create programs that never ran, Jean Ichbiah and the US Department of Defense create the Ada programming language. In spite of the lack of evidence that any significant Ada program is ever completed historians believe Ada to be a successful public works project that keeps several thousand roving defense contractors out of gangs.
1983 - Bjarne Stroustrup bolts everything he's ever heard of onto C to create C++. The resulting language is so complex that programs must be sent to the future to be compiled by the Skynet artificial intelligence. Build times suffer. Skynet's motives for performing the service remain unclear but spokespeople from the future say "there is nothing to be concerned about, baby," in an Austrian accented monotones. There is some speculation that Skynet is nothing more than a pretentious buffer overrun.

1959 - After losing a bet with L. Ron Hubbard, Grace Hopper and several other sadists invent the Capitalization Of Boilerplate Oriented Language (COBOL) . Years later, in a misguided and sexist retaliation against Adm. Hopper's COBOL work, Ruby conferences frequently feature misogynistic material.
1964 - John Kemeny and Thomas Kurtz create BASIC, an unstructured programming language for non-computer scientists.
1965 - Kemeny and Kurtz go to 1964.
1970 - Guy Steele and Gerald Sussman create Scheme. Their work leads to a series of "Lambda the Ultimate" papers culminating in "Lambda the Ultimate Kitchen Utensil." This paper becomes the basis for a long running, but ultimately unsuccessful run of late night infomercials. Lambdas are relegated to relative obscurity until Java makes them popular by not having them.
1970 - Niklaus Wirth creates Pascal, a procedural language. Critics immediately denounce Pascal because it uses "x := x + y" syntax instead of the more familiar C-like "x = x + y". This criticism happens in spite of the fact that C has not yet been invented.
1972 - Dennis Ritchie invents a powerful gun that shoots both forward and backward simultaneously. Not satisfied with the number of deaths and permanent maimings from that invention he invents C and Unix.

FWIW I spent quite a while admiring the Winged Victory of Samothrace -- more than I did with the Mona Lisa (although I did more than glance at that).
(I had an idiosyncratic attachment to the Winged Victory ahead of time.)
But although it's sad that people ignore some things, I suppose it's a positive that people are admiring any art at all, as opposed to the people who aren't ever tempted by art museums.

Wheeler-Feynman Absorber theory had advanced and retarded waves, and yielded causality so long as you chose to label one of the waves as the emitter.
It's an arbitrary labelling so it's time symmetric again, but seriously, everything is except thermodynamics.
There was an attempt to fix absorber theory's acausality but I think it ended up being a matter of opinion:

John said "the number of divisors of n times 1/nˢ" and then it turned up in the equation as "d(n)/nˢ", so we know that d(n) is the number of divisors of n.
This is a number theoretic function, so one has to go play with number theory to learn more.
