Seems like if I ever want to start my own website I'll need to learn a lot of new stuff. Oh well, could be fun. I used to enjoy website creation years ago.

In the late 90's the internet had this whole different vibe, before big business discovered it. When everyone could get their own little free webpage. People would create homepages about the stuff they were into, their hobbies, things they loved. They were so much fun.
I miss the old chatrooms where you could meet people with similar interests from all over the world. Again, they were not owned by billionaires with agendas. They were just places to socialise.
Sure the internet had it's issues. It always has. But there wasn't the problems online in the late 90's that exist today.
I can't help wondering if bringing back these independent spaces on the internet would help the world somehow.
