we need a new financial model for housing across Europe. One where you can make some money on selling a home, but that above a certain amount of % profit you pay higher taxes or into a mandatory "bond" fund that can be used to build social and rental housing. In the case of bonds, you get then to collect some income from the bonds. We should create affordable housing plus also encourage people to invest in industry (jobs) and not so heavily in housing.

According to an article in The Economist, 76% of all political extremist killings in the US over the last decade were committed by the right. Overall though the level of political violence is lower than in the 60s. So there is a breath of hope. Please American friends, I love visiting your country (and people of all political views) please take your energetic friendliness and focus on that rather than hate and violence.
Regardless of which side, stop the killing!

RIP President #Carter a good man who tried to bring about a better world. Back then US Republicans negotiated with the Iranians to keep the hostages in Tehran longer to extract more pain from Carter - thus removing him from power. So to claim the rot in the Republicans is recent, is a lie.

it is time to block all funding to #Hungary and block free movement of people from there. It is a dangerous border where the other side is stuffed with Russian spies and corruption. I feel sorry for the good people of Hungary, and many are opposed to #orban but it is a hostile act in Europe.

Sadly, June Spencer who starred in BBC Radio's The Archers has died aged 105. RIP
As if making it to 105 is not amazing enough, she only retired 3 years ago! Making her around 102 and still acting!

Well Ukraine is about to lose a large amount of territory and China will take Taiwan. In exchange, #Trump and his friends will get investment rights in #China and #Russia. The US population will get some pathetic payback from China, perhaps a tolerance of some tariffs. #Europe will also get carved up.

I feel so sorry for the people of #Ukraine today. Although the rest of #Europe faces being handed over by #Hungary and the #USA to Russia, they have more pressing threats.
I never supported one European State, but today one with a federal structure and a nuclear-armed military seems very appealing. I am afraid that #NATO is now irrelevant. #NATO also contains pro-Russian countries like #Hungary, so we cannot trust them to actually defend anyone else. Let's leave Hungary to the Russians.

I am sitting a few kilometers from a large graveyard full of #us military who died during World War II #luxembourg. These are the kind of people that made America Great, not people like #Trump

Even if #Trump loses next week, Europe must realise that the threat of a #Trump2 in future will forever hang over #NATO. As a result the #USA cannot be considered a stable #ally. Instead we should treat the #USA as a an unstable ally and #NATO member but move on. We MUST build our own alliance in #Europe. One without #Hungary and #Slovakia and similar countries. Instead arm #Europe with #European made weapons without relying in #USA command and control systems. A sad day, but a fact...
