I normally don't do this, but this is a unique situation. A close friend of ours lost her 16 year old daughter in a tragic car accident this weekend. We've known Lena her entire life and for Erica to lose her daughter is heartbreaking and unfathomable.
Erica is a hairdresser which means if she doesn't work, she doesn't have an income. No parent should lose their child, the grief alone is overwhelming.

How's this for creepy…I just made a purchase for my daughter one some apparel site I'd never heard of.
I checked out as a guest (didn't log in) so all I gave them was my name, email, billing address, and credit card.
Within an hour, I get a message on WhatsApp from the brand with my order details and promising to keep me informed of my order's “journey.”
This is why we need privacy laws in this country. Brands shouldn't be able to contact you on an app where you didn't make the purchase.

The “rules” in politics no longer apply. Trump has proven you can do whatever you want with the attitude of “oh, you don’t like it, make me stop.” And so far, litterally no one has. In fact he’s been rewarded for it.
So why on earth are the Democrats so beholden to “rules” and “norms” that don’t exist?

What kills me is the level of indoctrination. Even thinking adults are SO steeped in it and were raised on “this is just how our system is, why shouldn’t those who work harder profit?” that they can’t even see the playing field is rigged.
They can’t even imagine a world that’s different. One where there is actual regulation or things needed to live (food, housing, healthcare) are removed from the marketplace so that those systems work for the benefit of all, not just the 1%.

Whoo Boy. Two major newspapers in two days both announcing they won’t endorse a presidential candidate…in perhaps the most consequential election in decades. Both editorial departments are up in arms. Both papers are owned by billionaires who would absolutely benefit much more under one candidate than another. 🤔
Not a good look for the fourth estate.

Admittedly I have not read the book. I think our defining feature is our imaginations. The ability to imagine a future and then work towards it. Our ability to imagine that dollar bills hold actual value beyond the paper they are printed on and then act accordingly.
