Kaweco: Lets design a pen (perkeo) that needs an empty cartridge in the barrel to to keep the actual cartridge seated, but also, lets design that barrel such that if you put that seating cartridge in a certain way, it'll get stuck in the barrel half way, preventing you from capping the (rapidly drying) pen.
I hate seating cartridges to begin with, but especially when I can't shake the stuck one loose and have to get a tweezers to pry it out. Who's dumbass oversight was this? #fountainpens

@nprofile…k95v My suspicion is that it’s one of those conversation topics that is both deeply fascinating to the speaker and entirely about them.

...I am not sure why some people are obsessed with sharing dreams. What am I supposed to say? Am I supposed to pretend it means something? I'm often held hostage for a 20 minute explanation of some brain white-noise, and if I don't feign interest I am the bad guy.

I ran a oneshot of Tunnels & Trolls 1E
It was a fun history experience, even if in today's terms its kinda ... a bad game.
The game itself feels pretty much incomplete. You're going to immediately run into ambiguities and missing rules almost instantly (movement? Dungeon rounds? resolution mechanic? good luck. You'll need it, because luck is the best stat). It feels like what it is: The work of someone who read a copy of oD&D, didn't really get it, and then hacked out something like it based on what he thought it was.
Which given that it was written when the genre didn't know what it was ... is fair. It's got a lot of interesting notions, like how strength and dexterity are casting stats, monster ratings, group combat resolution, a bunch of fun, zany spells, and an entirely overwrought 'berserk' mechanic. It could have used a lot more playtesting though.
Today I couldn't imagine running a campaign in this. Certainly many did, and it must have been crazy. I would get frustrated with it and begin writing out my own hack. I tried to think of what I'd do if I was around in 1975 and trying to run this thing. I think I would have done the same (and with oD&D), but who knows.
Still. We ran a dungeon, laughed, had a good time. I would like to try a later edition of T&T to see the arc of its evolution.

Discords event system has been broken since it released with regards to daylight savings. I have to go and fix it every god damn time.
This year was especially bad. Usually it moves the time by an hour. This time it seems to have reset everything to UTC. So they tried to fix something, and just fucked it up worse.

My fellow Americans: please learn some escalator etiquette.
Single file. Stand on the right, let people walk on the left. It drives me wild when I’m in a hurry and I can’t get up or down the escalator quickly because everyone is standing haphazardly like a dipshit.

I am of the mind that a dog is still an animal, and thus has a black box mind that you cannot fully predict or know. Since there is always an opportunity for it to surprise you with its actions, you should act accordingly.
My siblings friend has a pretty nasty bite wound on their hand because they spooked their “would never hurt a fly” dog in the middle of a play-fight with another dog and ended up chomped on.
Like: yep, that thing can always happen my guy.

@nprofile…20qw Indeed. It's often an afterthought, and many engineers have a bad habit of braindumping rather than considering the audience and informing.
