In Seattle, I hosted a monthly tea party where I'd make some of my fanciest teas. It was pretty successful, with ~5 friends showing up regularly. When I'd meet new folks, I'd add them to the invite.
TBH it's not been working as well in London, and I'm not sure why, hmm...

I'm going to read this. But I'm also going to say Google did fuck all to create peer-to-peer micropayments for content. Once they became stewards of the web, they shaped it to run on ads. A lot of value creators make is lost because the have to go to host platforms to get big enough to "monetize"—and they only see a fraction of that value.
